Overzealous Turret Stabalization

When in a warrior or scimitar (perhaps facing north), if the driver turns left 90 degrees (perhaps east), then my turret will turn right 90 degrees (perhaps west) making me look to the rear of the vehicle and I must slew the turret 180 degrees to face forwards.
anyone else experience this?

It's sometimes annoying but usually manageable for me.
