Ok, obviously a noobie question, but somthing Ive been wondering since I started playing PR. Why where the pistols removed from the majority of regular army classes? This thread can be locked after the questions been answerd, thanks.

Perhaps to make the classes reflect their real life counterparts as well as make room for the shovels?

In real life not many soldiers got pistols (at least thats what someone said, and im sure he knows a lot more about fighting then you do. Beacuse he invented it then he perfected it, then he put 2 of every animal on a boat and beat the shit out of them)

Most infantry soldiers don't get a sidearm in real life. In fact in some militaries regular infantry soldiers don't even get a chance fire one. Usually higher ranked officers are issued handguns as a sidearm.

no pistol...

IRL a pistol + ammunition is just more weight.

If you stick with your squad, there's no need for you to resort to your sidearm for defence.

sidearms aren't necessary since bf2 doesnt take into account how wieldy each weapon is - you can clear a room with a m9 as easily as g3 - one less reason to have sidearms.

afaik IRL many soldiers buy their own sidearm because it is not issued as standard, which i guess is why they ppl think every1 has one

Its even more fun to spray on full auto, but not empty your cl... eh magazine completely and then lie down and shout "Reloading!". You dont have any idea how many people fall for that one

PS: PR needs to mod arma, i hate some of the aspects of that game, like sounds... (i know it wont happen)
