Any tips for urban movement/assaulting?

I led a squad today in Sunset city and experienced some major complications when trying to assault the main flag that lies at the center of of the village. I'm sure its in part due to my inexperience squad leading, but I was drawing some major blanks after the ideas I had flopped. I originally led the squad around to the eastern flank, while another squad was already pretty bogged down on the western side of the city, but we got shredded. This was followed by getting shredded while trying to circumvent around to the south side. Ended up getting pinned down in a small alley there for upwards of ten minutes. We tried everything, smoke concealment followed by a rush. Moving slowly with eyes on the rooftops. Moving quickly towards the scaffolding. Flanking from different directions.. It was exacerbated by the fact that I had slugging squad mates and an impotent commander, but it still led me to the conclusion that I need a bit of advice from some of the vets here. Any help?

This is what I use, but it's really a matter of personal preference and how good/bad a day you're having

1 Officer Kit
1 Automatic Rifleman
2 Medics
1 Rifleman (Optics)
1 Grenedier/Rifleman Optics

Break your squad into two fireteams, I prefer Officer, Auto, Medic for Alpha and Rifleman (Optics), Medic, Grenedier for Bravo, make sure the guy you put in charge of Fireteam Bravo is someone you can rely on. Move using the technique Bounding Overwatch, one team covers, while the other moves, this way, you'll always have at least three guys with weapons zeroed ready to support you. Never go around a corner unless your team is stacked up, glance around, and if it looks clear, take one fireteam and advance around the corner while the other fireteam covers. Do not be afraid to use suppressive fire, especially with the Auto Rifleman, he can keep a whole squad pinned while everyone else sets up. Your Grenedier gives you that indirect fire punch, if the enemies behind cover, even on a roof top, he can drop a grenade in behind or next to them.
If you're attacking a flag, switch to full auto, or Burst if the US, and launch in a couple of frags before rushing in, each fireteam securing a different side of the objective, Alpha Left from the entrance, Bravo Right, or whatever way you want to. If there's a building or elevated position overlooking the objective, stationing a fireteam there, preferably with your Auto Rifleman gives you better arcs, but the actual assaulting is still very much decided by luck as CQB in its current form is broken.
What's most importand in FIBUA is to remain flexable, the addage "No plan survives engagment with the enemy" is never more true in this enviornment, keeps your eyes open for good cover and alleys that can bring you up on the enemies flank. Thinking quickly will mean the difference between continuing on to the objective, and restarting at the rally.
