As a PR player once said, "you cant code noob"

I personally like the idea of losing assets. One of my best times on the map was gunning down three landrovers full of troops and spent the whole round keeping the unoccupied UK vehicles where they were.

With no commander to respawn land rovers guess who lost the round?

I played the map the other night with only seeing about 8 Brits the whole game, which was about an hour or more. And I drove from east to west north to south all over the whole map.

Is there anyway to get something to help with this slow game play? Lame squads are always a problem, but I'm not sure how you can force noobs not to suck.

Maybe just have rover spawn time low, or have a lot of them. I don't know, it just really sucks.
Perhaps you experienced a mass crash that seems to plague the AlBasrah map periodically. I think you can find ample history of this on this forum. If you still don't know, I would liken it to the Rapture. One minute you are having a great game, and the next everyone around you disappears. I am ok with this, as I seem to always be among those called Home. If you are one of the unlucky ones remaining, then you better start praying (after you go waste all the lonely British vehicles). Just think of all the free points you'd get from that too! C'mon, you never care to see your name in the top 3 or so after a fun round?

If you manage to develop a anti-noob system you'll get the nobelprize!

How about putting 1-2 bases like vcp, somewhere else in the map with rovers only, and letting it have a permament spawn instead of a temporary one.

Personally, I've always thought there should be a small base in the far north east part of the map, the bridge on the east is rarely used (I've only ever seen myself use it to lay down fire on the suburbs.
Just a little compound like vcp, with 3 landies and 2 boats... story line could be its a small marine checkpoint for both water and the route in Basra.

Key:
Red - New Road
Blue - RIB spawn
Dark Green - Landie Spawn
Light Green - Base perimeter (Same as VCP)
Black - Bunkers/Towers

This would be an excellent staging point, but not be overpowered, but gives brits some water based tactics. The perimeter wall could extend round to the river front with a small entrance onto a small wooden dock.

Awesome idea, I’d want the boats to take a little bit to spawn however to stop a instant destroying of the bridges and preventing the insurgents being able to meet the first wave of brit armour.

^^^ It is a good idea, however, if the VCP was made a capable spawn point it wouldnt be needed

you could put the base right inside the city itself cos when you look at basra IRL they have the main base out side the town(like 5 miles away) and a base in the heart of the city.

About not seeing any Brits, look better. I just came off from a round Basrah, and the Insurgents got bored after some minutes while we were getting caches, rallies, etc.

Instead, the most pubbers grab all the assets and go mass attack VCP/City for some odd reason.

I see Brits all the time. I'm just minding my own business standing in my little store at the market place and they come barging through machine guns blazing. They never buy anything just shoot up my store and my customers and continue on to blow up more things. I tell you if this keeps up i'm going to join the insurgency.

That's where it would be good to have a base. Inside the city, then nobody can say anymore that because someone took all the vehicles. They can't get the caches.

I dont think the map needs changed.
I was thinking more about working in some kind of incentive for the Brits not to go lame.
Maybe letting insurgents on the main without it killing them? Then at least they could take the fight to the Brits if all they do is sit at the main.
tbh, good idea.. since they don't need to guard vcp anymore, all it would take is one squad at most to keep the entrance and perimeter covered.
