I was playing on gloryhounds server an hour or so ago and connected to TS 72.3.226.33 (mistakenly connected to the wrong TS server). After awhile someone (don’t wish to name people) else joined the TS server and informed me of my mistake. The game I was in wasn’t too good, as people were not playing as a team. So, I decided to join the tilt server and have a game with the guy on TS. It was just the 2 of us on the tilt server and we were having a chat about some of the changes in the .25 PRMM etc. eventually someone else joined the tilt server so it was 2 vs 1 but I was doing ok. A little bit later someone else joined and we went on the offensive using the 50 cal’s on the Humv’s etc to good effect (got about 6 kills with the 50 Cal and about 15 on foot during the game).

There was 1 cappable flag remaining so my squad mate and I took 2 jeeps over and took up opposite positions covering the flag. When we killed the 2 defenders we moved in closer to the flag and waited. Killed the 2 guys again when they spawned and then moved on foot to take the flag knowing that we would have 30 seconds to do so before they spawned. One of them spawned again and we took him out before we capped the flag.

After that we took up a defensive position (I manned a 50 cal in a Humv) as the last enemy flag was uucappable. The enemy came at us head on in a jeep and on foot. I took out the jeep and then jumped out of the Humv when a rocket was fired at me and I think I killed the guy with my PKM. The rocket had missed so I jumped back in to the Humv and manned the 50 cal.

Next thing I hear is that I’ve been kicked from the TS server and when I’m about to type in asking why I see the message “kicking for vehicle whoring, admin decision” and I get kicked from the game. I tried to reconnect to the TS server to inquire why but my IP was banned.

Can someone tell me what etiquette I broke so it doesn’t happen again? I didn’t think I was over using a vehicle…is there some kind of time limit?

Sounds like you were owning the admin/server operator and he got pissed.

^ hahaha, that sucks, but it's funny to hear someone get mad about a game. Good job owning his arse.

This is something you need to bring up with the admin of that particular server. Perhaps they have their own rules regarding when and where certain vehicles may be used?

Perhaps they're just an arrogant *******/over-zealous admin.

It's possible but usualy the best thing to do in these circumstances is to write a polite note to the admin and ask why you were banned and request to have the ban lifted.

This way you get an explanation and 95% of the time you will also have the ban lifted.

this is admin rights abuse
you have done nothing wrong mate, you only used things that are part of the map. so no problem.
next time you maybe get kicked for "hiding behind a building" or "using health packs without permission".
if you come from europe there are much better server for playing on with less lag than on GH.

Yup - I think most of us have had that. I've even had a clan member non stop try to vote me off and the cowards never answer any reasonable request for why?

I worked out in the end it was because I was the nearest competition to take Gold - So I complained to his clan leader

If its in the server rules, its perfectly acceptable.

Silly rules doesn't make something acceptable it just means after an amount of time and a bad rep an empty server and wasted money.

if its ranked bf2 server then its illegal from EA EULA. so they cant do that so you can get thier server changed to unranked permenantly. hehe

there are no officialy ranked prmm servers though

how about a "shooting at da.SPAWN forbidden or get kicked"
or even nice too "BH only for clanmates or get banned"
i hope you all understood what i mean with this examples

if a vehicle is on the map everybody is allowed to use it at any time
if the owner of the server does not like this he had to mod the map or take the map out of rotation.

There are no server rules that forbid the use of vehicles. If they are on the map, they should be used. It is a case of an over-reactive admin going headstrong.

Chances are you're not banned, however whether you'd actually want to come back there after such a crude display of immaturity is up to you.


I'm not crazy or confused about this post Edge, I know what's going on, and keeping it 'real'.

Just to clarify, this did not happen on GH. I would never do that. He mentions he moved to another server (after playing on GH) when this happened.
