Weapon Deviation

I think that weapon deviation needs to be toned down just a bit. I have found it impossible to hit anything further away than point blank even just using short bursts. The burst mode on the M16 is useless because it can't hit anything far away, and it's not exactly the best for close combat.

when u say deviation do mean the recoil/ muzzle climb...that might just b u...and even at long range short bursts arent the best...single is...and burst is good for cqb...if u can aim it right u can spit out more rounds faster than a full auto and in more of a cluster...it all just takes practcie

Ok, watch this:
A: You dont use burst for long range fire.
B: Burst mode works very well in close range, since you dont excperience as much recoil from the rifle.
Dont ever use Burst on long range fights, its a waste of bullets!

Make sure you are in the best possible firing position when trying to accurately engage targets. This means staying still for a few seconds and getting into a stance which is as low as possible. As people have already pointed out, don't use bursts.

the current deviation is a little wierd but burst mode it NOT for long range this isnt vBF2 after all where you can hit a guy in the eye from half the map away with full auto spraying.

Try testing burst fire accuracy on your LAN server where you have no ping. After bit of practice with iron sight (I don't think its possible to do useful burst long range using scope with any shoulder fired rifle) M16 at long range and if you get satisfying result, its maybe not the deviation or recoil, but something to do with gun recoil becoming unstable only on multiplayer? At least I think so.

In Real life, soldiers are trained to use single shot in the vast majority of circumstances. If I remember correctly, bursts and full auto are only really used in close combat assault and defence situations.
The deviation is gonna be majorly overhauled in the next patch, and if johnny and his ballistics/zeroing team are done in time and that gets in, the combat will have a very different feel I imagine.

Ballistics are being modified so things are going to get a lot different.
Basically only use burst when you're try to suppress an enemy. For CQC double taps with single selected work very well, it's easier to control and you get more rounds on target. Just practice a little more and you'll get the hang of it.
