The co-pilot in scout choppers like the Little Bird has this nice black/white view for spotting enemies and marking targets.
This view could be passed to Commander/Squad leaders so that they can turn on/off an extra window (maybe in the upper left corner of the screen) where they can see what the co-pilot of the chopper sees in his black/white view.
This would be great for reconnaissance since a scout chopper circles the area around a squad and the squad leader could see from above whats happening around him and his squad.
This came into my mind yesterday on Qwai River but I don't know if it's possible with the BF2 engine.

i think it should be limited to commander getting the camera feed, not squad leaders but other than that i think its pretty cool idea.

wicked idea... i think squad leaders should be able to get this feature. i would definitely be using it avidly. could be implemented different ways. maybe we can get a camera onto the old UAV model and have it back as a commander asset but now its not l337 hackzorz uber red dot kill fun time. could bring another element and emphasize teamwork, tactics and efficiency more then ever. i dunno probs wont get a second look but someone should give it a shot and see if its possible..

i suggested that a while back but they said it would ruin the game play. But the chopper idea sounds really good if its possible.

There was a vanilla feature where in the command map you could zoom in and see satellite feed if I'm not mistaken. Maybe you could do something with that were the commander can see the video from the scout aircraft on that zoom level. Its a very interesting idea though.

Didnt even knew the copilot had that! I always thought he was there to hold the pilots hand when he was scared!

Implant the UAV "radar" thingy to a scout chopper. I think i should be available to SLs also. This way the scout chopper could really be used to track enemy movement. i should not work from too high up from the ground. so the chopper can be targeted by infantry.

which is a good idea

Yeah, commander could see it in the most zoomed mode, wich is blank (well, " satelite unable to see so close")

epic idea, is that possible ? god i hope so, when commander zooms in 3 levels he sees the chopper gunner view, if chopper on deck he sees ground, if dead fuzzy screen

I don't think this kind of stuff is possible.

That would be hella cool but I doubt it's possible.

That live-camera-feed is part and one of the great inventions of the TV-century and modern warfare. If this is possible...

nice idea,but i think only the commander should be able to see the cam.im not sure will this be possible with the bf2 engine though...

wasnt there a thread discussing this? The main idea there was to add the camera feed on a flying uav and link it to the comm screen... Well and i think the devs already said, that it is pretty hardcoded =/ Well... *still hoping*

I'd say no to this because even if possible it would reduce communication and coordination required over the scout heli just relaying targets as he sees them like is done now.


This is awesome like the poe tomahawk is awesome but I still prefer the pr way of making squad work the most important factor to use of power and information
