For the DEVS or testers if its not breaking the NDA, are the new maps and animations going to pose a slowdown? What FPS do you get on the maps as opposed to qwai/generic map?

oooo.
Guess that upgrade of mine is more imminant then first thought. Current rig can barely load fools road as it is.
But should new animations pose a threat to processing ability?
And are the upcoming maps that much more consuming then the current badboys?

To be honest, it's a bit early to comment on lag issues as work is ongoing. If your rig ran .756 it'll run .8.

I don't think there's much difference, it's still a modification of vBF2 you know.
Glad I'm not a tester = more joy when it comes out

Just like making a movie, you watch it so many times.

Main things that hit your CPU hard are AI, shadows & physics.

u cant compare PR to vBF2 performance wise. PR is just so much more stress and im guessing itll be more stressful in .8

Pentium 4-based PCs will all expire in a 110'C inferno. Pre-X2 Athlons will simply keel over. Core 2 Duos will finally utilise 100% capacity for the first time ever. Anything under 3.6Ghz will cut-out randomly. The supression effect will last two years on any Sempron, and three on a Celron.
PR 0.8 will be The Great Leveller, rendering all machines equal in their inability to run it.
....alternatively, just remember that no matter how hard the team push it, the core game is still just BF2, and there's a limit to what can be demanded of the engine. If you run 0.756 okay, you'll run 0.8 okay.
