JDAM suggestion

As well all know right now the JDAM is basically a giant smoke bomb. It doesnt have much of a kill radius, and doesnt really achieve its intended purpose of clearing out an area for a infantry assault. If I had to take a guess I would say it is a 2000 pound JDAM {devs correct me if im wrong} since the bombs carried by the jets look to be 500 pounders and the JDAM explosion is so much bigger.
My suggestion is basically instead of one big bomb, make it 3 or 4 500 pounders in a tight grouping. This would work much better against scattered infantry and vehicles in an area. Make it so each bomb falls about 15 meters from each other. I guess though at this point it wouldnt really be considered a JDAM strike, more like dumb bomb strike, which shouldnt matter anyway as most of the areas we fight in in PR look to be devoid of civilians. So thats my suggestions, I hope atleast the JDAM gets some kind of change for .8 I think it really needs it.

Yeah the JDAM needs an upgrade, I like the idea but the bombs also need to kill things inside static vbf2 buildings if possible

I really think this suggestion was covered in previous threads regarding the JDAM
iirc Rhino commented on perhaps making the explosion ignore certain statics, so that you can't just hide in ground zero in a wrecked building or on the 2nd floor of the estate on Qwai

Where does this notion come from that dumb bombs are inaccurate? You think planes just drop bombs randomly and hope they hit. Dumb bombs can be just as accurate depending on pilot. And im not even sure about jdam idea, I think it was a more of a "cool" feature to add. It's very unrealistic, even if you call it an "area attack" for other colalitions. One side would have air superiority, so one side wouldn't even be able to drop a jdam.

i did not say dumb bombs are inaccurate, especially if they are used in PR they would be as accurate as the current JDAM. And obviously if the DEVs put a new type of "area attack" like dumb bombs, they are not going to limit it to any one faction. We here in the U.S. arent the only ones with an airforce ya know.

Pretty hard to get around that
Just fyi, we called it "Area Attack" because we have to name things "generally" so the commorose works (can't have different ones for all factions). If we could, we would have called the US/GB ones "JDAM" and the CH/MEC ones "LS-6".

Can you dynamically create a DoD with 0 seconds?

i just got done reading a chappter in a book called "None Braver" by Michael Hirsh, in which a team of Pararescueman describe getting off a helo right after a JDAM had accidently been dropped too short and landed on a team of US SOF and Northern Alliance members.
Besides the fact the JDAM needs its damage radius increased a ton, what if we added a longer "Suppression effect" to everyone that somehow managed to survive the explosion in a certain radius. I use this quote as a reference:
"Pat Malone says, "The minute we stepped off that plane and the dust started to settle, you got that vision of the chaos of war. It was so evident. THe guy that approached us was completely shell-shocked, almost to the point of incoherency".
This description was after about an hour after the JDAM had impacted the troops and they were still shell-shocked such a time after. I'm not saying we should put a suppression effect for the "Black/White Near Death" effect for an hour on people that manage to survive a JDAM hit, but maybe like 20-30 seconds. This might give a nice tactical element to the people that just dropped it letting them maybe move in through smoke and the shell shoked enemy soldiers.

its funny you mentioned this, i actually made a whole suggestion thread for that same exact idea a while back, and also the instant DoD. its good to see others agree with me. without even knowing lol

shell shock isnt an affect on your capability to function from being hit by large volumes of explosives, it is a mental condition involving paranoia, regret, and possibly remorse from killing, seeing people get killed, and seeing your buddies get killed. it is in no way directly related to combat, one can get shell shock simply by seeing the carnage after the battle, for example medical evacuation teams.
shell shock is fear, not rattled senses.
