No Ammo = Ability to fire, still?

I was bored on Kashan, so i got into an AA vehicle... the ammo counter said, i had zero ammo, so i aimed and "fired" at a blackhawk. Much to my dismay, it started smoking and I got the team vehicle damage message. I know there;s glitches where if someone gets in the gun turret of a vehicle and there was someone there, but i got the "empty ammo" sound, when i fired.

Am i just confused or is this a different bug..?

Happens on, from my assumption, all ground armor.

I've seen it first hand occur in the warrior/scimitar, with 'no ammo' in the Coax, and AP rounds (HEAT and SMOKES were fine).

I only noticed it when, after much rightclicking to hear the soothing click of no ammo, killed a civi while pointing at him and right clicking. It's mostly annoying especially when you can't see whether your shots hit or not.

Or when you teamkill people.

Solution: Never point at teammates or civilians with a weapon and click. Just dont do it. (With exceptions of course. If that civ is trying to kill you with stones you might want to shoot him, and if the teammember is next to a very very important objective and you only can shoot right now... But you get the point)

The basic rules of firearms states that you should never aim at anything that you dont intend to shoot, Also always act that a firearm is loaded.

I've only done it with civis, unintentionally while dragging my crosshair along.

That, and I had never experienced it before so I was unaware.

I have, however, witnessed someone speaking of not being able to shoot anything and then killing a teammate.

lol yeah rule #1 of weapons handling, always asume it is loaded and armed before you do any kind of disasembling or expiramenting. if you are shooting ofcourse then dont asume actually check before you pull the trigger in hopes of killing the guy coming at you with an axe (common movie mistake)

my firs experience with this wasn in a warrior on basrah where i got into a fresh new one and the main gun counter for the AP rounds said 0, so i told my driver to go rearm, the numbers did not change so he told me to shoot and all i heard was the empty chambre, but to my dismay everyone else said it fired, i did not see any rounds but apparently they did

This bug is quite old for armor, someone said it has something to do with jumping in tank when x has happened, can't remember what x was. Also, doesn't the AA have unlimited ammo? Isn't it supposed to show 0 until its loaded, if so then if you keep spamming the fire key, you might miss them.
