Critically wounded state

I'm pretty sure the devs have thought this over, but I'm still gonna post it. Once u get into the critically wounded stage, I was wondering, if there would be a way, so that, if you get shot while in that stage, like a bullet lands on your head, You automatically go to the killed state. I'm guessing this is hardcoded, or if it could be done, it would take a long time to make a whole new system like this.

Anyone who is critically wounded seems to die when hit by a large explosion in BF2. I've always wondered how that's possible when, at the same time, bullets seem to have no effect.

NOT hardcoded from all i know. But one could doubt if executing people is a legit tactic IRL - putting it in the game could be unrealistic.

It's possible to finish people off, but as said by gclark, it takes explosions. I used to rocket downed soldiers on Karkand so the medics couldn't save them.

If the amount of damage it takes to kill a body can be adjusted, then it'd give more reason for people to confirm their kills and, dare I say it, 'Finish him!'

Yet not really hardcoded. Afaik you can modify the damage done to certain body parts, or at least thats how i think the current headshot and body armour system works. If you increase the damage modifier for headshots to 10000000, it would be just as good as C4. Though, maybe in that case it will blow you away and let you fly through the entire map or so.

Ive always wondered this my self too. If you shoot someone down but is not dead you should be able to kill him with a shot in his head.

So it's possible but it was discussed to death regarding the ROE and critically wounded soldiers being shot on the ground etc...

POE has it, but it takes quite the amount of bullets to finish them off.

Well, for conventional armies, they would try not to finish the enemy off, rather taking POWs instead when possible. But Insurgents would go for the kill, every time. If there's some way to make it so only Insurgents can 'gib', then that'd probably be the best option...but I doubt it's possible.

Yeah but that part of PR doesn't work like real life. For instance they say the reason that you can revive and fully heal people that were shot is because it's simulating that someone else was brought in. ( :roll: @ that excuse)

So as long as reviving is in they should do all they can to make it fair to the other side and let you perm kill which could even be simulating taking in POWs. :p :lol:

To me it'd be best if they just took reviving out completely. Too bad I've found that all my suggestions and ideas for how PR should be are too hardcore for mostly everyone. :| :o ops:

You wouldnt have random fire killing people youd have soldiers walking up and putting bullets executioner style into each and every downed enemy, or from range. Itd be ridiculous.

Its all how you wanna see that. I see it as the person wasnt enough to be seriously taken out, just in need of some basic care. Maybe lost a finger, or had some decent bleeding from a clean shot. I dont ever think of it like "ZOMMGGGG!!! I have been raised from the deaaaaad, must CONTINUE TO FIGHT!!!" :) I just think of it as a mere flesh wound :P

Dead is when you need to use "reinforcements" because then it uses a ticket :)
