try re-optimising ur shaders
to do this go to C:\Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache and delete any folders you find. Next time you load a map it will reoptimise and hopefully fix your problem, this may need repeated attempts.

Happens to me often (every time?) when I start playing PR, but on subsequent rounds issue disappears.

Yeah its random, one round it will happen and one round it won't. When I first the bug I said over my mic "How the **** do make a golden bunker i want one?"

any chance of us getting a nice Project Reality shader to get rid of the terrible BF2 shader? XD

Just use BF2Cleaner to rid the dumb shaders.
The first time you load a map it will be shiny.
Exit and rejoin.
No more shiny until you change a video setting again.

O_O I just had an idea...
maybe tag the PR.exe with a built in cleaner that erases the shaders each time you load a map! haha... wishful thinking....
