Punitive Measures for TK

As per usual I would like to start by thanking all involved in creating and constantly improving Project Reality. I await version 0.8 with great excitment.
Any way I was thinking over TKers and how to encourage less of it and then it suddenly struck me:
If a player TK's another team mate he should be restricted in class until he earns enough team points to merit re-opening of other classes.
For example: you TK someone - result = you are restricted to medic or engeneer class and are not able to pick rifleman or any other specialist kit (that includes picking up kits from dead sprites) untill you have earned 50 team points.
For me this would, in some small way, reflect the punative measures of WWII where if you messed up to many times you were re-assigned to the "Stretcher Bearers" on the front line. The only way back into your squad was to perform great acts of bravery with your stretcher and maybe get recognition from your field commander.
I do not believe that this would stem the tide of TKers all together but it would be another step towards making it a less appertising option and would further the level of "reality".

Like the kill a couple civies, can't get a kit for a few minutes punish.
Changed to TK punish, not get a kit for a few minutes punish?

No way, I can get 900 points but still get -150 team points. Team killing should just get a penalty as if you killed a civilian if you are punished.

They will still be able to teamkill you no matter what kit they have.
If it was accidental, the extended spawn time when they die is sufficient punishment.
Why people teamkill? Cause they have nothing better to do than ruin someone else's game. We can't change that, and punishing someone who unintentionally teamkilled you by ruining their game, is too harsh.

This is not an idea to stop TK tards (because as all experienced players will know, there is just no discouraging TK tards ! This has to be down to EA and Punkbuster to come up with a suitable solution.) How ever I feel that this would make the less careful players more likley to cross reference and confirm their targets before pulling the trigger.
People seem to think more about their actions when the consequences effect them directly - and selecting Sniper, Marksman and Automatic rifleman seems to be the draw that got every one willing to join squads (It used to be a nightmare getting people to work in squads pre squad kit selection. Those of you that played previous incarnations of PR will know what I am talking about.) So to my mind "kit punishment" would appear to be the perfect deterant. (Hit them where it hurts !) If it was powerful enough to get all the "Rambo" solo PR players to play as part of a squad thus improving over all game play, may be it is powerful enough to make more careful and observant gamers out of us all. Besides which if it did not work it could always be left out of the following patch and if it does work well.........

Ummm, one thing you may want to change about the kit restriction, you want to force a TKer to have C4 (ala Engineer)? Personally, I don't like the idea, weapons like C-4, AT4s (And equivalents) HATs, Grenade Launchers and the occasional SAW tend to do massive amounts of damage to an area of effect. Have you ever played Basrah and taken the time to type out a warning and a countdown and watch your allies run right onto the weapon cache you just C4ed? Or have been ordered by your SL to launch a grenade at a cluster of targets and hit someone who was sneaking up behind them as well? There's too many instances where an accident or the idiocy of your team could punish you badly.

Might discourage smacktards TKing for vehicles if they can't get the kit.
And they would struggle to TK with a pilot kit (i hope).

If you are punished for 2-3 TK's in one life.
Have a limited kit request denial for a few minutes.
If you get 4 or more punishes in one life....instant kill.
As well as kit denial.

I do like the idea that if you TK someone you have to come back as a Medic, it is always a problem keeping a medic around, even at least one on a team. Maybe just for one life though, nothing harsh.
But this is all assuming that if you get made a medic, you will actually play as a medic, or play good as a medic.
You can only punish TK if server allows it and that is not always the case
