Once again, crucial to teamwork. You have to compensate for the lack of communication. You can't have real life-like communication in the game, because not everyone has mics, and the command system, as good as it actually is (know any games that have better?), just doesn't do it. So, unless you want to alert the team on the flank you're taking (too many people miss chat messages), it's handy to see where pressure is being applied to the enemy, so you know which flank you may have to take and cover. Too disorganized without seeing friendlys on the minimaps.
Wait... are you talking about commanders scanning the enemy or the friendlyt minimap?
In the case of commanders scanning the enemy, last night on Karkand 2, our squad, led by Fuzzhead has very tight communication with LevAstov. He was able to alert us of
everthing headed our way, and at one point, we even had the heads up on someone trying to ambush us around the corner, and blasted him before he could get a shot off!
Definitely played a part in the winning of MEC on that map (a rare feat
