1.21 support for ATI cards.

good to see taht EA apear to be returning to their older shaders because ATI cards are now supported again

just hope they havn't screwed up again.
screen capture failier appears to be a 1.2 thing so they have fixec that as well.

EA dont give a shit about ATI. they only made the game for nvidia cards (as nvida sponcer them) and then ATI was a afterthought. Dont you rember the old BF2 demo some ATI cards couldnt play it?

What is the problem with BF2 + ATI? I've got ATI Radeon 9600 mobile that plays fine on 1.2, will 1.21 make it play faster? I've always thought my laptop has played pretty smooth at mostly medium quality settings, that's how I play online too. Will 1.21 give me a speed boost? That'd be nice.

It only effects SOME of the ATI cards. I have a 9800 and its allways worked with BF2. Its mainly a prob with the x800s and other high end ATI cards.

my new card plays BF2 fine... X800GTO, everything on high, needless to say, it was a BIG improvement on my Nvidea 5500 (wasnt even supposed to run bf2)

My X850XT runs things just fine, Nvidia are naughty because they tend to lean on devs to tweak to their cards instead of abiding by a pure Dx standard.

Gee wonder what the problem is I have the same card. Overclocks nicely 550 core ,ram @ 1230 mhz rock solid .Performmance in BF2 ? 1280x960 res , freature set @ 2/3 medium 1/3 high 2 xAA smooth as silk. Not trying to gloat just hope it works out for you.
