Question to the devs.

Hello all. While I'm really happy 0.8 is finally coming out, I need to know one thing about the graphics. I am the low end of low end computers. I can hardly get 30+ FPS on any map, and with the 3D sights and such coming out, will my computer have any problems running it?
Specs:
2GB DDR2 RAM
ATI Radeon X300
Intel Pentium P4 processor, 2.8 GHz.
Thanks in advance, and good work on the mod so far.

Lulz you have almost the exact same specs as me(i have ATI Radeon x1300 though). From experience i can tell you that your PC, as well as mine, will have a hard time playing any game, let alone PR.
Its time to get a new PC brother.

If you're asking if your fps will improve with the new build then the answer is no. You'll see the same levels of performance on .8 as you did with .756. If you have been waiting for an excuse to upgrade then I will say .8 is definitely it. The new maps are to put it simply...stunning.

I wasn't asking if it would improve, I know that'll never happen unless i stumble upon 200 dollars or a new card. Thanks for the quick reply, and I can't wait.

I fully agree I just wish I had more money.

lowest of low end? I have 1GB of PC2100 ram,
ATI Radeon 9550,
and an athlon xp 2100 2.1 GHz.
and the only map i have trouble on framerate wise is Fool's Road (the trees kill fps completely)

I played fools road on a x1950pro and it was ok, I'd call that a proper minimum personally.
x300 is below spec, its not really fair to complain about low fps when using one.
Graphic card prices just fell alot because a new generation was released and all the rich kids off loaded their old cards onto ebay, etc
Nothing wrong with buying one of those, getting a new computer from the local retail store will just mean you end up with a brand new crappy card most likely
Here is a link to a list of reasonable cards to buy/use, 50 fps is what I prefer but any card from 30 up in this list is fair use

I hope they keep Fools Road as the perfomance limit. (That means optimizing Quinling and make sure the new maps has at least equal fps as Fools Road)
E6850
3 gig ddr2
98000 gtx

If your computer can handle PR v0.75 then you'll be able to handle v0.8. We're not asking any of you to upgrade, but video cards are pretty cheap these days. You can pickup a capable GPU from Tigerdirect for a lot less than $200:
VisionTek Radeon HD 2400 Pro Video Card - 256MB DDR2, AGP 8x, (Dual Link) Dual DVI, HDTV, Video Card 900175 at TigerDirect.com

2400pro is pants though and its dx10 when you cant even use that with bf2 so you paying for something not usefull to you imo.
Better to buy an older faster card I think, we are playing a 3 year old game
The chart link I gave above shows 2400pro as 6fps, try (aprox.) 6x as much performance in game so 36fps which would be something like a x1950pro at the same price or less as the newer card
x1800 xt, Computers Networking, 512 MB items on eBay.com
Nvidia 7900gt

I used to have a POS computer like yours (except mine had 1GB of memory, yours has 2GB) and it would crash vBF2 10-20% of every time it connected to a server and loaded a map.
no way it will handle PR 0.8
though if it handles .756, it will handle 0.8
