One thing I find unrealistic is being able to use the shovel while in prone. I find it hard to believe that someone can build a ten foot high bunker while in the prone position.

Anyone else think you should only be able to build thinks from the crouch or upright position.

its realistic i guess, but does it really matter? what difference will it make to gameplay?

I actually agree, this will give the snipers some love

yes it does because when phrone you get much more cover and someone friering at it would hit more targets which would prevent the bunker from being built

Seems like a pretty reasonable, and probably pretty easily fixable thing to do. Don't se why this shouldn't be in.

dont quote me, but i believe so. Have you seen the video in the journal about the MGs that can only be shot while lying prone.

I totally agree with this suggestion. Allthough, if everyone was standing, then it would be extremely easy to mow down a squad of builders. So i think crouch would be acceptable too.

Crouch is fine, but it is extremely unrealistic to dig and be prone...

afaik there is no code to not allow "shooting" of a weapon in prone, only code to allow a weapon to be shot only in prone. So this sounds easy but i dont think it is possible from the code i have seen.

Well I remember the pickup barretts as you can not fire it standing/crouch but only when prone. A similar code could be used.

Yeah but I think it doesn´t apply the other way round.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I thought there was a code that allowed a weapon to be fired only from standing/crouching. Perhaps the Eryx/SRAW uses this code? Because I don't recall being able to fire those while prone.

What would be good is if you could build the building at the speed you do know, but the ability to spawn on it does not activate for 5 minutes- that way gameplay is preserved and th realities of setting a FOB are also preserved

stand up =100% speed of build, crouching= 60% speed of build, prone=0% speed of build

Thats how i'd like it, and there is code for not be able to shoot prone, applies to SRAW and Eryx...

^^ I thought crouching would be more effective, seeing as the shovel is only 2 feet you got to bend down a lot
