I was in a server today playing on 0.8. The map was Ramiel and the server was full, 64/64. Anyway, I saw a UAV flying around and a bunch of dots lit up on my minimap.

Is this a new thing the devs snuck in to see if any one would notice ^ ^?

Or was I just seeing things...anyway

nah i saw it on ramiel too..it wasnt on taht same server i think..or maybe it was..but yea i was insurgents..and i openend my map and i saw the bf2 uav BS flying around showing enemy positions

Did you have a commander and can anyone provide more information on how to recreate.

My bad, I ment I saw the dots on my Bigmap. Not minimap(been playing to much Vanilla while waiting for .


Anyway I didn't check if there was a commander, I saw it, then the server crashed about 3 mins later.

Yeah, I have, but apparently it was a hacker.

I didn't see it myself but a few minutes ago I was playing on korengal and my squad mates started talking about a UAV in the sky. I think we had a commander but we didn't see any dots on the map so I think it was on the other team. edit: we were USA btw.

I posted about my experience with this. Someone was using UAV's on Korengal and each side had some. It was weird cause for insurgents I could see a UAV in the air and I was like WTF? Also someone named Micheal244 said he took a pic so you should see that soon. Also they dropped out of the air and landed in the water. I was actually standing on one. It was weird.

That did however bring up a game type. Same as insurgent but instead of blowing up only caches you could have to recover the UAV. What do you think?

I didn't know if there was any way to prevent this hack but I reported it to the TG admins on their server anyways just in case there was.

I heard someone talking on VOIP saying that "as soon as someone uses the UAV it starts raining UAVs" and that when that happens it "causes servers to crash". I've seen it twice, about twenty UAVs dropping out of the sky in quick succession, and each time it's happened I get "there's a problem with your connection", except it just stays there, and all you can do is look around real slowly. So i disconnect and i saw a little while later that that server had gone back up but there was no one in it because apparently everyone else has had the same problem, and it's happened in every single match i've joined since yesteday, on 3 different servers (5 matches in a row)

Oh and that's on Muttrah City, AAS, and Qwai River, Skirmish i've had it. No commander on Muttrah, dunno about Qwai

I was playing with the HOG clan on their server Sat night and we we saw the UAV right before the server locked up and had to go through a full machine restart. The HOG admins are beginning to form an opinion that this is part of a command hack and the hackers using this are also delibertly crashing the servers. At the crash they are seeing a transport function error in the logs they have never seen before. They were also seeing this shortly before PR 0.8 came out on their BF2 and PR servers.

I just got done playing 10 different maps on various full servers. Only 1 round on TTP managed to make it to the end. One after another each server experienced a lock up and crashed. HOG, TTP, T&T, 10th German, TG, Swizz, etc. All the lock ups happened in the same way during the middle of a round and were universal and simultainious for the players.
