Sprint

To get down to the point.

People never run anywhere in .75 because they cant be bothered, now it takes twice as long and that is not good, people will take cars to travel 100m.

I think its completely stupid to have reduced the sprint, and to be REALISTIC, the sprint (which is infact a jog), should last 5minutes minimum, with all the equipment they carry aswell.

What are the reasons it has been made like this?

everyone i talk too on the server thinks this sprint is utter BS, havent met one person on the server who hasnt said the sprint it utter nonsense.

The game was soo good back in .4 -.6, but now all the changes, 1 step in the right direction, 2 steps back, has everyone here thinking this is realistic?

if you explain without using the world realism or to make it realistic, i would accept that, if you dont, then reformat your brain

Its to promote slow movement and tactics, maybe it works well, but the whole car thing is the greater issue. Animations make the gameplay slow enough imo, but I see the point; I used to run and gun a lot and sprint was my secondary tool. What my first one was the quick animations, etc.

^ concluding, sprint should be what it used to be imo, animations make the gameplay slow enough.

and where do you get this info of sprint being a jog? AFAIK the normal movement is a jog, sprint is sprint. So it's fine the way it is now, you shouldn't be using sprint to move from one flag to another, instead use it when you need to. (crossing a street, retreating etc)

Before we had a large sprint and fast recharge. We now have a small sprint and a slow recharge. It's totally broken.

If a change was to be made it should have been just making the recharge time slower.

This sprint change is a serious problem IMO, just go into a server and ask if people like the new sprint. I was just in battlearena Korengal and asked that same question in the main chat and was flooded with disapproval of the sprint change. :|

I like it the way it is now it slows everyone down a lot when crossing ground so you have time to actually look around instead of just trying to keep up. It makes the sprint feel a lot more precious so people actually save it for crossing open ground like streets.

i vote for infinite "sprint"/fast jogg. i don't care if it's not 100% realistic.
especially with the new, big maps.

hell no..then no one would ever walk.....i think the sprint should be like it was in .75( maybe a bit shorter) but with the recharge it has now

And what if you get the sprint bug, Jump forever?

Yesterday i played and asked same questions, no one liked the sprint change.

Also one incident from yesterday. I was going to regroup with my squad, they were approx 200 meters away and so i started going, then i was going to cross one street and halfway i noticed APC there, so quickly i turned back to run behind cover.e Thing is, i was out of stamina and he managed to hit me, enough to get black and white vision, but i was a medic, so i survived.

Note that the first second or two apc didnt notice me, he noticed me at very last second and managed to shot me, but all that wouldnt have had happen if i could sprint.

which is exactly why I said

as far as I know IRL soldiers don't sprint everywhere they go, so I suggest you do the same.

The new system works just fine, people just need to learn not to sprint everywhere.

The sprint is fine. You can't play v.8 like you did in v.756. If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

What's more, feedback forum is for feedback.

Guys, it's simple:

If you're getting killed because you can't sprint, you're doing something WRONG. Not "not quite right", not "slightly poorly", not "second-best". If you're dying because you have no sprint left, you have failed at electronic life and you will be rewarded with a Black Screen Of Death.

APC comes down the road and you need to get out of the way fast? Got no stamina left? Then you shouldn't have been running down the road.

Getting killed crossing large open expanses because you can't sprint across them? Then you shouldn't be crossing large open areas on foot.

To which, someone would no-doubt respond "But Masaq, what happens if I save my sprint until the APC comes down the road, and I sprint away from him, but he follows me/I bump into some soldiers/a frakking pony starts biting me! I won't be able to sprint away from THEM!"...

...to which my answer is:

You can't freaking expect to be able to run away from everything. Suck it up and accept you got outmanouvered.

Next time, have someone bring along the Heavy AT or some pony repellant or something.

In short:

SAVE YOUR DAMN SPRINT FOR EMERGENCIES
