I have two odd problems I've seen while playing .8, one really minor, and the other very major.

Firstly, twice I've had a glitch with the report from my weapon. The glitch was the same both times, where every other round fired in semi-automatic played the "Fired from long range" echo-ing sound effect for the weapon. I saw it with both the M9 pistol and the AK-47. Don't know how to replicate the issue, but it's only been a rare problem.

Second one is a major one. Periodically - and seemingly at random - my mic will fail. It looks like the game stops registering my Push to Talk button (scripted to my middle mouse button). Which is annoying because I tend to not notice quite a while. I can't figure out how to get it back, either. I have no clue what may cause it.

I'm running X-fi audio on Ultra High, and using Vista Home Premium 64-Bit.

I have the same X-FI issue, this is the fix I use.

When your mic fails, ALT-TAB out of the same, go to Creative Audio Controls, and switch your mode from GAME to ENTERTAINMENT, it will say that it's not possible because the audio device is being used. Go back to your game and your mic should be working.

I managed to eliminate the problem entirely, I had formatted my PC installed DRIVERS only from my X-FI and then updated to the latest version. So far I have not had the MIC bug come back since.

For the MIC problem you could also try this.

When you realize it's not working in game...

1. Press the TAB button to bring up the scoreboard

2. Go to the top of the scoreboard and click the "Manage" tab

3. Scroll down to your name and just click on the speaker icon next to it, works 9/10 times.

Komsomol's fix works well enough for now. It still went out twice on Qwai earlier today, but at least I have a fix for it now.
