Is it just me or in the Sniper kit VERY inaccurate. I did a test with the marksmen kit and the sniper kit. Marksmen: 4/5 hit Sniper: 0/5 hit.

Would you like in the next release for the sniper kit to be more accurate?

Press 3, and wait intill the breathing is over: makes it way more accurate (as long as you don't move the rifle)

I was getting 1-shot headshots at ~400m today. You have to take your time and wait for your shot. It's pretty hard to hit moving targets now, so wait til they stop. You should be able to trace their path ahead to see a nice bit of cover they're heading to, so wait there and then pop them when they stop.

Oh and your sig is too big. Rules, section 3

I find that for one rifle in particular (the Lee-Enfield) the accuracy is AWFUL, completely unable to hit a target at any range after ~250m, all other appear to work to some extent. For the other sniper rifles the accuracy is reasonable after the breathing. Some advice would be to reduce the sensitivity of your mouse and to bind a keyboard key to fire as even the tiniest movement completely destroys stability now.

Which is the Lee-Enfield? The MEC was the rifle I was using today and it was fine.

The pickup kit sniper rifle for the insurgents/ the militia sniper kit is the Lee-Enfield No4 .303

There is something seriously wrong with it, it doesn't even generate a suppression effect as it misses targets by such a great amount at distances of about 250m even after waiting as long as 15-20 seconds for stabilisation, will try to post a video...

Nah I think there's a serious glitch or something cause I would wait forever and not even move and it wouldn't hit accurately. I think I tried this with multiple rifles and I didn't check the ranges but they were around medium ranges.

It's just like when .7 came out. Shooting will just take some time to get used to.

It would be helpful to actually know the specs of each weapon in terms of stabilization time though (hint devs hint).

You know what I thought was funny?

I stood still in front of a hangar, 2 m away, fired my rifle unscoped, and hit 5 M to my right and 3 M up from where I was aiming. I actually had to turn and look for where the bullet hit.

They seem inconsistent, you get lucky sometimes, sometimes you don't.

1. Get in tank.

2. Find friend to drive tank for you.

3. Have your friend drive tank to hull down position.

4. Engauge targets.

5. ???

6. PROFIT!

And a lingering sense of wonderment at why you spent so long fiddling about with a .338 or 7.62mm rifle and a suit that makes you look like a bush when you could have simply jumped into a 60 ton armoured behmoth of doom with better zoom, a better gun and a shed load more protection and done the same job in half the time. :D

The sniper rifle is absolutely pathetic. No real sniper would ever miss a target just a short distance away after staying scoped on the target for more than a minute...yet, it happens again and again. It is really sad when I can't hit a target with multiple shots from the sniper rifle, yet I can hit them with one shot from the pistol. Although I understand the need to balance the kits, the sniper rifle is as far away from reality as possible.

Not for me. Works fine actually i think its now quite too easy to kill with the new sniper rifles if you know how to...

Snipers are highly stealthy implements of death to be feared, and even reviled, in real life.

The difference between real life and PR? We can't have 1337, tacticool 12-year-olds forgoing teamwork in order to become lone-wolf PR snipers, so the DEVs have decided to cripple the kit instead of modding the player base.

Given the circumstances, there was no alternative but removal of the Sniper kit altogether, and I doubt that will ever happen.

However, let's take a look at the Officer kit, with its scoped rifle, a badass sidearm, plenty of ammo, grenades of all kinds, a SOFLAM/GLTD, and 3 field dressings. With this equipment, any infantry SL can do everything the current Sniper can, can easily get his kit when he dies, and isn't ridiculed by every experienced player in PR just because of his kit choice.

So, I ask this: why do we have a sniper kit that can barely snipe and can't even run recon missions as well as an Officer?

Is it possible to tie the sound of breathing to the deviation?

When I first started using it today I thought it was useless but through the round I started to get the hang of it, and the round became very enjoyable, I came first of 62 players :D , you need to keep the weapon in one place for about 5 seconds before firing at your target. Also if you keep holding the right mouse button after you fired the shot the recoil will pause allowing you to see your fall of shot.
