since i started playing PR 0.8 im gettin some weird artifacts covering the whole screen, these seem to happen at random when the map is done loading and dont go away. Also the seem to be happening more often wich is to bad because i cant play like this.
a few screens to show you the horrors:
as you can see in the first picture the game becomes quite unplayable and i also fear for the safety of my videocard...

Looks like your graphics card overheated...

no, i dont think thats the case, my videocard doesnt go over 60 degrees celcius according too rivatuner but ill check again.
also these textures are like this the moment i come in the map, maybe i was a bit vague about that the first time. The second the loading is done and i hit the squad assignment button the textures are like this..
maybe they are not loaded properly?

Open your PC case and put a fan right next to it, then try again. Then you know if heat is a problem.

My card failed recently, didn“t matter about the temps, it would just start showing artifacts. Not as bad as this though. It could mean at one point it has overheated and that has damaged it a bit.

What card? 8800GTs for example seems to be bit too much overclocked on default. I had some artifact problems too, temps weren't high and 8800 should play games quite nicely. Dropping the clocks with just a notch helped.

i have a nvidia 7600 GT, agp version
i did overclock it a bit and turned the fan to 100 % at all times. did not cause any overheating, but to be sure i returned everything to default....
also i cleaned the fan on my videocard, quite a bit of dust came of of it so i hope that was the only problem
I really hope that my video isn't broken of something.
But i find it strange that pr is the only game where these artifacts occure, if i play cs source which looks alot better then bf2 imo,i never got artifacts.
also i find it strange that these artifacts occur right at the start of the map when i press the squad assignment button on the loading screen, the first thing i see is artifacts when the map starts...

A good 'combat indicator' of a failing or hot card can sometimes be a very quiet squeeling noise coming from the card.

Since the screenshots i took i have taken the side of the pc to let it cool down a bit, it seems to be helping.. i guess that my card IS overheating while the rivatuner says that the temp of the card doesnt go over 60 degrees celsius while playin :S
but what i find strange is that my card always, even before playing any games, is around the temperature of 50 degrees? is that normal?
i havent heard any squeling noises yet..but im still a bit worried...
a couple of months ago i bought a new psu with my new videocard, this is a 460 watt coolmaster psu, i think that 460 watt is enough to power my pc.. since it is getting a bit old.
the system specs are:
processor: pentium 4 northwood 3,06ghz
ram: 2 gb
graphic card: nvidia 7600 gt agp
motherboard: ms-6701
psu: 460 watt coolmaster
PROBLEM SOLVED

hey guys,
i think i found the solution to my problem, it was as simple as it was stupid on my part

when i took of the side of the pc case and stared at my videocard for a while i noticed that on the videocard there was an additional power connector....

a quick google search showed that the 7600 gt AGP version, in contrast to the pci version needs additional power.... :d uh:
so i guess because pr puts so much load on your system the videocard just didn't have enough juice to run the game while getting power only from the mobo... other games could just run with power only from the motherboard.
i hope that my card didnt suffer any damage from my stupid mistake
