Check your options, I think theres an option for auto-reload. It could be set on manual.

Yes, PR sets the auto-reload on off in Vanilla. Known, and no bug.

Just a hint: No auto reload means the enemy doesnt know that you're out of ammo. You can use a lot more tactics even in vanilla with auto reload off.

I am having a problem with PR editing BF2 files. I did not notice the auto-reload issue mentioned, since I always have auto-reload off for BF2, but I noticed something else.

The various settings related with the HUD have been changed and additionally the cross hair color has changed. I usually have a light blue hue on my cross hairs, but with PR they are changed to a peach like color. Why? I consider this a problem/bug, I have to change the settings each time I go back and forth between PR and BF2.

Why is it a problem? Look here:
Installation Guide - Project Reality Guide
After installing Project Reality, you can play vanilla Battlefield 2 without worrying about any changed files, PR makes its own separate folder and can be uninstalled separately at any time.
Thus this is inaccurate. There must be a line in the PR settings which instead of referring to PR's settings file, it refers to and modifies BF2's file. They should look into this and release a tiny patch if this is the case.

Thanks for your time.

You can just make a separate account for vBF2 and PR and the settings for each will be kept same.

It modifies user settings, not game files.

The easy way to stop it affecting you is, as youm0nt says, make a separate account for PR.

Though he has a point, i think it should be written down somewhere before the user downloads it, just to be correct.

But can it be fixed somehow? The worst thing is that it changes the crosshair color in vanilla. I can live with no auto-reload, though I would like to see both fixed.. ;)

like egor said, its not affecting any of the BF2 files, its only effecting your profile files, ie, your control settings forcing manual reload off. If you exit PR in the correct way, ie, click exit on the menu, it resets your profile settings to what they where before you logged in. How ever, if you alt+f4 to exit PR, or you CTD the game dose not have a chance to revert your profile settings back to what they where and as a result you have manual reload set in BF2 and other mods, but all you need to do is just go into your settings and check auto reload and your back to where you where.

I play both.. When I dont have that much time, I go for vBF2. When I have a few hours I can go for PR. ;)

But its annoying that PR changes the crosshair color in vBF2. This is becaause the c.color option was removed from the menu. Why did you remove it from the menu? If the option was still there, it wouldnt affect vanilla.
The grey crosshair color on the H-AT is kinda hard to see, so put the option back so we can have what color we want. This way it can be the same as vanilla.

..why would we want PR to be the same as vanilla.... ? o.o They make the crosshair that color i'm guessing because that's what the color is for it and makes it seem most realistic.

Just make another user account for PR mate, and on ur vBF2 account, set it back up the way you like it.
