BF2/pr & RAM useage

How much RAM does the bf2 process use when you are playing PR?

And please state your Texture Settings (i believe this influences RAM usage)

I'm trying to do a some trouble shooting.. having some performance issues.

PR/BF2 used to run at 650-720 MB RAM... now i've noticed it running at 1.35 GB RAM

I'm not sure if this is due to different Graphics Settings.. going from Medium to High textures...or if i have a memory leak issue or similar.

Thanks for any info.

How do you even check how much RAM its using. Back when I had 750ish RAM it was uber slow, now with 2gb its fast. So right now all I can guess is that it uses somewhere between 1mb and 2gb

... alt/tab..then.. crtl/Alt/del..under processes.. viola!

It doesn't look like this is an issue.. unless others on High Textures are getting far less than stated above.

*facepalms* I had a feeling that was it...never really used Crtl/Alt/Delete for anything other than raping programs that are annoying me.

And holy Hairy Monkey Balls! Just doing nothing I'm using 594mb. Id hate to think of what it was using before I got my new RAM while playing PR.

Well for some reason i sometimes get or most of the time i get a huge framedrop. This happens when going to ground 0 to high alt and then go back to ground 0 again or get close to the ground so it loads the high res texture. Then i need to atl+tab out of the game and go back in and its fine again. On qinling is this is happens to me almost every 5 min orso..

On high res textures its even more. So i keep it on med.

I should be able to play PR at high 8x AA but then after i play for about 5min my frames start to drop to about 25/30. So i keep textures at med with 4x AA. My frames still drop but not too 25/30 :)

This will depend on how much video ram you have on your graphics card.

I have a card with half a gig but find my main program also uses upto 2 gig normally, some of the bigger maps like fools, qinling or ramiel use more upto 2.5gig

high textures, no AA, win xp

If building a new pc I recommend 3 gig or more and 750meg on the graphics card or more

Just checked what it runs at with my settings (Most medium, Text high, Geometry High) uses 1.3 GB average over all maps that I play.

Runs at 40 on average and up to 90 FPS...but down to 20 in dense cities with way too much going on.
