So yes I just got done playing a game and found the mec AA is impossible to kill unless you get a tank. Its horrible because its solo so the gunners isn't a ****** looking the wrong way or a driver driving the wrong way. The gun on the thing are more like snipers deadly oblivion guns. They are pin point accurate and can shread armor like paper. It's anti air infantry car apc tank

Tunguska is technically underpowered as its firing at 1/4 its real rof and not even a 30mm round. Just a generic AA shell that is used.

Tunguska is not only really an AAV, the SA-19 can be used against ground targets and the cannons for sure.

Driving is easy with a bit of thinking around the problem, just remember what direction you are going in in relation to the turret. The engine is pretty weedy though.

isnt that balanced in the way that the shells explode on impact and have HUGE splash damage?

[R-DEV]Nosferatu wrote:Is it necessary? Cause ZPU-30s proved their capability to act not only like pure AAV, but together with tanks in urban and mountain region warfare. For example, in 1994 Russian army lacked fire support from vehicles armed with automatic cannons during assault on Grozny, they needed overwhelming firepower to supress insurgents in buildings, so they used ZSU-30s to cover advancing infantry and tanks. After that, ZSU-30s used to terminate sniper nests in chechen villages from safe distance, like big sniper rifle.
Its how they are used to a certain extent in real life, obviously not acting alone like some tardish Rambo but as described above by our Russian Mil adviser.

If you turn the Tunguska around backwards and use s to go forward and w to go back it drives perfect for some reason.

In PR, per shot, the Tunguska does less damage than the BTR-90s HEI rounds by about a factor of 30, at least against tanks, apcs, and light vehicles. The projectile fired weighs 0.389 kg. Just as a comparison the M67 grenade weighs 0.397 kg. The splash damage is small if anything. The Guns on it make it closer to a wheeled A-10 than your average AAA platform. I don't know the extent that the Russian forces use depleted uranium so I wouldn't say it would be as damaging to tanks etc as a GAU-8.
PGU-14 = 30x173 mm
AP-T projectile = 30x165 mm

It was built to tear low-altitude aircrafts and light ground equipment to little bits and bobs in about as mutch time as it takes to say "Oh f***"
While it does fire a 30mm Round, its not commonly DU, AFAIK, its more of a "partymix" of API-HE-AP rounds, Comparable to the A10`s DU fed 30mm monster, its not close when it comes to tank-busting power, but in therms of ROF and sutch, its right upp there with it..
Also, while the recoil might be a bit high when you tweak it to the levels it shoud have, the sound and the power it got, its just.. Wow.. And thats how it shoud be ingame, it shoud rightfully be feared by anything if it sneaks upp on you, but its limited ammo, and that is WERY true with 0.8`s only two reload zones on the map tendency, its a wery limited force you do not wish to project without thought..
To be honest, Implementing the full power of the tungaska might seem like a massive overpower factor, but considering that it will not be able to provide its intented goal if the driver is a fool and hits evry ToA then.. Well, Sucks for the MEC team when the T90`s gets torn a new exit hatch by the A10 and its "OMGWTFBBQPWNAGE" screaming pilot..
lol i almost took a plane down with a tank yesterday, not to mention how many helis i took down.

The Tanguska is supposed to be an absolute monster. As said, not only is it an AAV it was acutally designed to act as a direct fire support platform (based on Russian experiences in Afghanistan where Shilkas were used for much the same role as thier high elevation guns allowed them to engauge Afghan posititons at much higer elevations than other Soviet IFVs). And as CAS said, its not even as much of a monster as it should be.
And, as has been pointed out, the US have a number of hard counters to it, not least the Bradley's TOW.

I always feel like that situation is backwards: I get destroyed by APCs whenever driving around in it.
But driving it around backwards is FAR more effective; you can see where you're steerting a lot easier.

I don't think it's (D.Uran.) used in Russia. It is available but is "saved for a another day".
Then again what do I know.
In PR I would use a linebacker instead of Tunguska against infantry if a choice was given. The field of view is much better, the "radar" (?) does not block half the screen.
Driving wise

Tunguska) it's actually very cool as it imitates the trucks:you turn right -the
right truck is active, the left is not. Takes time getting use to it,but a nice touch for sure.
How can you say it's overpowered? What about A10? That thing will blow "anything" in PR literally, and
AA will never kill a tank.
