Armouries...

I would absolutely love to see armouries in Project Reality, preferably located the main base, or if the team is a special operations (SAS, Force Recon) or airborne force (British paras), possibly in an immobile HMMWV, Landrover, or technical near the original spawn point.
The normal classes (rifleman, grenadier, medic, support gunner, maybe engineer, guy with an AT-4/RPG-7) would be selectable when the class selection button is pressed
At the armory, specialty kits would be available, such as the dedicated anti-armor kit (Eryx, SMAW, Javelin, RPG-29), sniper kit (M40A3, M82, L96, SVD), designated marksman kit (M14DMR, SPR, VSS), spotter kit (carbine or assault rifle with binoculars or telescope), heavy machine gun kit (M240/FN MAG, PKM), mortar kit, etc
Any comments? Is it possible to implement my suggestion?

Yeah, but I'm talking about armouries like in Desert Combat: Realism

Any comments about the armory idea?

Yes. That sounds excellent. Also possibly a way to limit certain classes/weapons.... I'm not a dev so have no idea about practicality/possibility but I very much like the sound of that.

But wouldn't troops have their gear right from the getgo in battle? Maybe, rather than having to pick up a kit, these specialized kits would have their own specific spawn points.

If you're spawning at the main base and taking a kit there, that's pretty much "from the getgo" in Project Reality.

What he means is, if the mod wanted to limit snipers, then an armoury style building with 2 sniper pick up's is a good way of doing this.
PoE and DC did it and it worked well.

I think the armoury is a good idea, it would allow the "specialty" kits to be made without fear of them being horribly abused.
It just would be kind of funny having opposing sides "gearing up" less than 1km from eachother

.

Two airfields within a mile of each other = funnier

Maybe have the main bases several kilometers away from the real battle so that blackhawks and APC's would have a purpose. Kind of off-topic, but it does correspond with the 2 airfields within a mile of each other, comment.

Katarn, what's your stance on having an armory or weapons caches?

TKing isn't so much a problem here in prmm. Those ******** can get kicked and banned from all the good servers if they want to do that.

Yeah, people who TK aren't the ones with an inclination for playing Project Reality.

What we need is somthing like AA. You have to past a test to show you can use it before you can? maby somthing like that yes?

Give the sniper rifle 15 or 20 rounds?
Have it take a while to put it on its bipod, get in the firing position, and look into the scope?
n00bs would probably go after the M14DMR
