AFAIK the commander outpost is in the Northwest corner of the east building in the main insurgent complex. It looks like a regular hideout.

commanding insurgents is just about telling relevant squads about enemy positions, and which caches are priority

You pretty much described every Commander's job right there. Only swap caches for flags, and toss in area attacks for the conventional armies.

Correct me if im wrong, but don't you have to have a commander in order to build hideouts? As well as mortar strikes? There are a few more responsibilities than just directing, and informing.

I wouldn't mind the commander coming out every now and then to demo old hideouts :)

Not in .8, imhooks. Without a Commander, SLs can set down Forward Outposts. If there is a Commander active however, he must accept the build order request.

commander can demo hideouts from his co post, using demo order.

was just commander on ramiel, good fun. organizing defenses and reporting contacts and calling mortars in.

Don't get burned sitting inside the Insurgents CP/hideout. I mean literally.
