Little bird the most survivable chopper in PR?

Has anyone noticed tht the little bird is possibly the most survivable chopper within PR? Ive seen many instances where it will crash and almost everyone on board will survive. Some examples of this are on Qwia River While being transported in one a tank opend fire on us, the pilot more or less skimmed the ground in one of the feilds at government office until the last second and bailed with every one surviving. Another example is that while on Qwia playing as a PLA, my squad was crossing the same exact feild, and a little bird wit ha HAT guy on the side opend up on us, he missed and they came back around but took allot of fire and more or less plumetted to the ground and exploded, we thought they had all died but upon close inspection all of them had lived (they were quikly "executed"). One last instance was on muttrah city, while playing as mec a LB crashed with 2 pilots, both got out and some how killed my squad mates (I unloaded on one with a G3 and knifed the other). Does anyone else feel this way or has noticed some miraculouse things done with the little bird?

The BH and Merlin are also very survivable, though they usually get killed outright because of their size and usage in-game.

Because of the situations we put the LB through in PR, it has the greatest survival rate, but it isn't the most survivable chopper in PR at all.

hueys i find are tough and eays to sruvive from. i got a aa hit to the tail rotor on jabal and ditched it under the bridge, everyone (full chopper) sruvived, engineer repped it to get rotor working and then we conintued the mission.... and i hti the ground HARD!

Also huey in muttrah, going down, i bailed last second, sruvived used bandage and shot a mec guy in the face then spent 20mins with his kit :D

I think all choppers have been made more survivable, which is far more realisc. One time on Operation barracuda I had an hot insertion on the beach, the chopper had a hard landing dodging fire, I dont know about the others, but who bailed out in time and managed to sprint for the junge should have been fine.

Another time in Ramiel we were going for a cache in the mos south eastern village in a black hawk, it got downed close to our drop off point, almost everyone survived and who did not survived, including the pilot, was revivived and patched up.
We waited for the pilot to be picked up by a LB and then continued torwards our objective.

I totally agree, i got personal experience myself:

One day at Kashan, i was flying with my squadmate, he was the pilot and i was passenger. We arrived to the landing spot and he slowed down to almost zero speed, ready to land, but just then a sniper bullet was shot and it went through glass into pilot, i was like wtf and looked to the pilot, he just layd down there on flight controls.

The littlebird started to drop nose first , but because we were at low altidute, it kinda landed on its nose and i quickly managed to jump out, then i managed to take a few steps away and just then it exploded, i survived completely.....man it was awesome experience.

I think its the least.
I have seen people, and personaly done so myself, shoot down an LB with a mag/mag-an-a-half of G3.
Out of all the helichoppers on PR, it is the one i have seen sustain the most casualties to aircraft and crew.

...mongol...

It depends on speed and height, the LB seems to fall slower then then other choppers if you manage to get a lucky shot and kill the pilot. One time on Ramiel I was in a technical and shot at a LB with the .50. I managed to kill the pilot and immeadiately the rotors stopped and the LB started spiralling slowly down to the ground like a feather. Now, it was pretty high up so it still exploded when it hit the ground, but I could easily see it surviving if it had been lower.

In another instance I was an INS Insurgent walking around when I saw a LB landing a block over. I quickly ran up the stairs of a nearby building and started shooting at it. After about 20 rounds from my AK I shot the pilot and the LB nosedived 2 stories to the ground. "Sweet, free kits for me" I thought as I walked back down. As I was making my way down I head the LB explode, so I assumed it had killed everyone. When I rounded the building though I was greeted by a very mad US soldier, and because I hadn't reloaded when I fired I quickly ran out of ammo and was killed.

So, it depends, the blackhawk and Merlin and Heuy are bigger, therefore might hit more on the way down, take more damage, and explode where as the LB usually hits on a comparatively smaller surface. However, I have seen Blackhawks and Merlins get shot down and have the vehicle survive while most, if not all of the crew and passangers were killed. In one instance, again on ramiel, I shot a BH with the Grail SA-7 launcher, through some lag or glitch I killed everyone in the chopper (about 4 people) and the BH dipped and crashed, but survived. Granted, it was smoking really bad, but it was still there. Was pretty cool actually, I danced ontop of it.

me and spaz flying down the promenade on muttrah at street level weeving in abd out of the lights etc (on a pretty empty server)

we both see a APC down the road turn to look at us, we both pull up and left to go through a small gap between two buildings,
unfortunatly wasnt quite big enough and my skids bounced of the top of the small building, i bounced back and hit spaz, subsequently pushing him into the building and he blew up,

somehow i recovered from bouncing off a building and off another heli, had no rear rotor and had to make a very shakey way back to the carrier at top speed away from the APC

Blackhawk or LB is very easy to keep alive in.

the littlebird is really open. i love flying it, flying in it, and watching it fly as the enemy. exciting!
i don't like the huey as transport. big, not that fast and no mounted guns to defend it...

In .8 I have probably been hit by 8-12 SAMs and lost only 3 little birds- though it was a rough flight back to the pad. The LB can take a beating- as long as it is getting hit in the right spots- Tail and under side/back.

my $.02

My [MPN] mate (And pretty much the only pilot we have) Fade landed a little bird, and then proceeded to flip it over on it's side. We all ran for cover, dove behind one of the Conex boxes and waited for the explosion. It never happened.

That is the UH-1N for ya, a 30 year old, err 40 year old in game? piece of hardware. Just wait till they get the UH-1Y in, then it will get a speed and lift boost.

I find that if you hold the "decend" or lower throttle button (defualt "s") once you touch down the LB, it will almost certainly flip over. I usually just take my finger off the throttle control right before I touch down.

Imho with joystick it's quite the opposite, when u give it 100% negative trust the tail rotor will push to the ground and keep u dead steady.

In real life the Little Bird is one of the most (if not the most) survivable choppers around; Read up on it. You will find many stories of Pilots crashing to come out completely unscathed. So, yes it should be the most survivable chopper in-game.

Small, fast and durable. It's great to land on roof tops, or land into a thin street. Then again, all transport choppers are fun to fly. :D
