would be fun to have something like that in a training map for infantry.
a.) pistol (25 m)
b.) assault rifle (100 m)
c.) marksman rifle (300 m)
d.) sniper rifle (300 m + 500 m)
i guess lot of people would enjoy to know how & when the sniper-rifle really hits
cheers

the targets would need to have some sort of way of where the bullet hit at long ranges. you cant see impact marks further than a few meters. and even if you did you would need to account for low end systems. i dont know how this could be done. but i always thought it would be nice to have one.

Some kind of destructible targets using new destructible statics perhaps?

well when a cache is destroyed there is a message, so it should work

Why donsn't the splash from bullets impacting render at long ranges? Cause to much lag or something?

you could have some sort of frame, with pieces that pop off when you shoot at it. That might be a good place to start. anyone with the skills should look into this for those of us who do not have the skills.

For even better practice you can make it move. I can try to make a shoting range type thing, with my bad mapper skills, i just started.

On the map Sunset City (I am 99% sure, but I'm not booting up the game to check right before bed) I believe there are some destructable plates on some of the market stands. Setting these up on tables at X intervals would be an easy way to do it.
Edit: I lied, I checked, there's these red things that look like books and piles of what I believe are tampons.
Books:

Books being shot (don't know why it put me in suppression):

Tampons with shot boxes on ground:

There are a couple of small targets at Operation Archer, if I'm not mistaken. They're at the NATO Operations Base.

pistol 30 meters.
shotgun 0 meters.
rifle 200-250 meters
marksmen 250-350 meters
sniper 950 meters
just to note.. i think the devs had a list somewhere.
actually my favorite weapon is the pistol.. its more accurate as a rifle in close combat... heres something wrong.

I don't care if the map looks nice, just give me a flat map with targets and every single kit for each faction that respawn after picking them up and I'm good.

Ain't Ramiel's view distance a little low? Would be nice to be able to practice 600m+ shots, dunno if you can do that on Ramiel.
