Airborne

This is part question, part suggestion.
The Question:
Why is it that parachutes were removed from regular infantry? Thus removing the possibility of Airborne insertion into hot zones that a low-flying chopper would be destroyed in.
The Suggestion:
If it is possible why not make parachutes only available when entering certain vehicles, such as the UH-60, USMC Huey, and their MEC/British transport counterparts.
P.S:
Another Question/Suggestion:
Why is the HIND not able to carry troops along with be an assault chopper. I know it is capable of this in real life so why not in Project Reality. (If it is not too much trouble to ask this also, why are such helicopters like the Huey, and British Transport not equipped with defensive guns.)
