Once a server is volunteered, you can all go kill eachother.
Known issue: Framerates. The extensive undergrowth reduces performance for lower-end systems. You may need to turn down your video detail settings to free up some graphics power, or turn down your maximum view distance. A 10 or 20% view decrease will still let you see about to your rifle's maximum effective range.
There will be a poll on the Community Mapping forum to discuss your system's performance on the map and any editing to the map I can do to improve everyone's performance on the map.

Like everyone, I'm having major performance issues. I normally do about 60-90fps on most maps, in some it does dip into the thirties in some, especially when I'm gunner in a chopper, but never like I did in your map. Never, not even with my **** fx 5200, has my computer lock up for 10-15sec at a time randomly like it did on your map. During these, I had graphical problems with the screen turning black(I think this is performance related).
I hate to say it, but you might have to tone down on the undergrowth.... I don't exactly know how it's such a problem on your map but not steel thunder, but then again I don't know much about mapping. I would be willing to tone down my graphics for your map, but for whatever reason, whenever I change my graphic settings too much the game freezes the first time I load it at 62%. I also wouldn't expect people to lower all their settings just for your map, despite how good it is. Also, for all the prmm players not blessed with a top of the line computer, it's not fair to put a map in rotation that they could never play at acceptable frame rates.
On the plus side it's very pretty and it is an extemely good map in pretty much every other aspect(as much as I could tell playing by yourself). It has the makings of being the next steel thunder.
I hope you can sort out the performance issues because that seems to be the only problem with the map.

wierd .. I never had these problems with 1.12 and the previous versions of this map.
I am using an Nvidia card .. 6600GT. Any trend in video card that is causing the problem?
More often than not map performance problems appear to be undergrowth related.

I had something of a stroke of genius. I decided to cut down on undergrowth by actually deleting undergrowth, so I swiped the eraser tool over the undergrowth map and gave it a swiss-cheese look. The grass looks patchy yet organic now and I'm certain this should help lower the bar. I also eliminated undergrowth sway so we don't have to render moving objects constantly. I think this should really improve performance for everyone and may even have a revision uploaded tomorrow.

check the view distance setting... DICE indicated that heavy undergrowth should be no more than 70 I believe.
You currently have it set to 200.. it looks better when drawn at a longer distance, but perhaps a compromise would improve performance? Maybe 100 or soemthing?
Engine is pretty limited in some ways.....

The problem is that it used to be around 70 and people would think they had cover in the grass but were wide open once you got to actual engagement ranges. 200m was the ususal limit of rifle engagement , so I wanted the grass out that far. I've dropped it down to 150 but also tore out a lot of undergrowth that will be rendered, I think we should have better results from that.

I just tested "patchy" undergrowth and it looks and renders much better. In some fields there's about a third or fourth of the rendering load reduced.
I also found a spot where MBT's can ford the river while taking some damage... and will duplicate it on the other end of the map for balance.

just gave it a bash (3 of the -SAS- guys) and we all had horrendus performance issues, and we have some pretty nifty PC's. Other than that, it looks great. Its just there is far too much trees, and the view distance of the grass is far too high (i know you know) Plus, I would take away grass from areas that hardly see much conflict.
Didnt get to test it, as all the lag made me sick. Saw a few trees growing sideways.
But, looking foward to playing the fixed version

Those sideways trees are from overgrowth on slopes, its not so rare to see trees falling over or otherwise growing strangely in a hilly forest.

yes I didn't really see it, it was just reported to me. I could hardly get out of my base, with all my settings on medium

Perhaps everyone who is having performance issues should post their PC specs, so we can determine if it is a particular line of GFX cards, or CPUs, or whatever.
Might help ...

No real problems, although I may lag jump about every 10mins or so, but I think thats on my end. Asus motherboard has a crappy LAN.

Nice comp lol
Anyways the map looks great, plus the random lag spikes but not to bad for me, on my low-medium comp.
