Huge airfields in Ramiel and Basrah

I was looking few days ago, what for those mappers are making these airfields if those can't be used for anything... So I searched the forums, and found out that paratrooper kit already suggested, and came to a simple idea - what can land on a big airfield? Big plane, if talking about planes the those are cargo/transport planes, like Il-76 Candid, C-27 Spartan, C-130 Hercules and such. So you put them there, get two spots for pilot and co-pilot that opens the backdoor ramp, and about 12 spots for 2 x 6-men squads of paras OR make smaller planes, but 6 seats for paras, but those smaller can drop supply crates.
About the backdoor ramp. Just like Merlin has, but no side entrances - so that paras can only enter when ramp is open and co-pilot can open and close it. And when he opens it, everybody is already halfway down the ground.
Would like to hear opinions, but have in mind that this is just basic description of what I'm thinking about. It's just about making paratroopers

For the sake of the game engine, i would like for the plane to be able to stop and float. While this may cause issues, it's the best wait to make it to that the paratroopers could preform an actual jump, ya know?

oh and make it so that para-troopers can't enter any other planes too
sounds fun XD
edit; maybe give chinese or someone para-troopers then.

it still sounds fun

I would love for C-130s, AC-130s and Paras to be included into the game, however there is a hardcoded limit of 8 seats to a vehicle.

so suggesting that a runway is big enough for AC-130s etc isnt the same as suggesting Paratroopers, AC-130s etc?
Come on lol, resuggestion.

While it would be awesome to have C-130's and AC-130's, the maps really aren't big enough for the planes. Only Kashan and Quinling could maybe get them, and then they'd be sitting ducks for AA and Fighters. Ya gotta think in the terms of the game guys. With the current cap of 32 players per side and the map sizes it just doesn't warrant things like cargo planes.
As funny as it sounds, on the modern battlefield what PR represents is basically a skirmish. For example, the raid that Black Hawk Down is based on, which Ramiel is then based on as well, had 160 US soldiers involved in the initial assualt, that is over 7 times the number of players one side can have in the game. Until player count and map sizes can be increased, I don't think cargo planes or ships or anything "big" should be added beyond armor and wheeled vehicles.

I do hope they will add transport planes in some version.
Like a extremely huge map (we're talking 2x Kashan) with some flags close to a city or something with a airfield that transport planes can land troops on.
But it's kinda weird how Basrah and Ramiel which don't have airplanes on them have such big and detailed airfields, unlike Kashan which is a quite simple design really.

Well... then smaller planes would do, or V-22 would also do a decent replacement, but then those runways again lose their main function... I mean, it's shame to see only a quarter of whole airport is used...

Can't you have one as a moving spawn point, like the transports in 2142? Then you could spawn behind it automatically parachuting, I think.
Maybe large aircraft (chinook, osprey etc)could also drop vehicles, the co-pilot drops light cars or bikes and lifts/lowers the door.
None-the-less, only one squad should get the right to spawn at it at any 1 time, maybe the SL will have to man the comms station inside for his squad to use it.

Not gonna happen.
- Maps are too small for the beast that is the C-130.
- Large scale parachute combat drops are not used in modern conflicts generally.
- Para's have been suggested before (by myself) and I doubt they will be put in any time soon. Helo's negate the need for airbourne troops.
Keep dreaming...

It used to have 2 A-10s, 2 BHs and 2 cobras. The airport was not considered too large or wasted back then.
Basra and ramiel have permanent civilian regional sized airports, where kashan and quiling are forward, cheap, relatively short lived military airports.

lol ya in 0.5 the Basra airfield was a sea of activity, all types of things flying overhead. The Airfields were made to simulate an actual airport in the modern era.. And each of you suggestions has been suggested before, please use the search engine next time. All found using serach:
Paratroopers:
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f18-pr-suggestions/43517-insertion-paratroopers-pr.html
I could do more but have school.

FYI Basrah came out in version 0.4 and i believe it had 2 A-10s on the runway. (plus a ton of choppers). Arr they were the days, lol. 3/4 of the team fighting over 'things that fly'. The rest getting IEDed on the bridges!

yep Basra had:
2 LAV-25's
2 .50 Cal Hummers
1 TOW Hummer
1 Support Hummer
2 M1A2 Abrams MBT
2 UH-60 BlackHawks
2 Cobras
2 A-10 Warhogs
A loaded base at the time.

Funny days those were too, A-10 strafing
Can you not make gigantic maps via resizing all the models to 1/3 of their size?
I'm guessing it is probably not that simple... yet alone doing this resize for just the single map..

excuse me for my noobiness when it comes to coding mods but couldn't you divide the c-130 into 2 seperate vehicles so you can increase the limit to 16 people?

No, collision mesh errors and the whole thing blows up, it's not pretty.
