Well I've been gone for the better part of a year. I've been playing PR since pretty much the start. Its always been a blast. I know things change, people change and all that BS, but i don't know if i have just had bad timing, or haven't been lucky enough to play with some of the old school guys i used to, but man it just doesn't seem the same.

have to agree. i love a lot of what the dev's brought. just... some things... just don't FEEL right... i can't really pin it either.. i love the mod... just... i get an uneasy feeling playing it sometimes..

umm i think its because its not as exclusive as it once was. the older versions {.5 and before} had a very almost cult-like following. id see the same players day in day out and had some of my best games back then. but after two real big releases {.7 and .8} we have lots of new people, and a larger player base in general so its definitly lost some of that feeling. anyway thats MY 2 cents lol

BRING BACK THE PR CULT! i actually used to stealthfully sneak on my dad's computer just to play PR 0.5, 0.6, AND 0.7 back when i was grounded. XD then i got my own computer and kinda of never went back to my dad's house XD

I have to agree, I find myself playing PR less and less :/

i can't actually play a game for more than 30 minutes...

i don't know whats up.. i can't play ANY video games anymore... T_T it makes me sad... my body and mind just won't let me...

Someone should set up an old PR .5 server

i feel the same way and i PR is my favorate game, ever -and its 'only' a mod.
But with this new .8 release the changes have taken away from the fun factor.
when i first played PR i was kind of unsure about the realistic non-arcade style gameplay, but then i came to love and see other games as too much for kids.

in .8 it is even SLOWER gameplay. i run around more (actaully walk because run limit is less) and fight less. there is just less action. i think PR v0.76 had a PERFECT balance of action and realism 'slowmess'.
i know realism is very important, but so is fun factor. in PR v .8, using the AT 4 or RPG is a pain, and acogs too. even LMGs are harder to use. everything is slowed down.

i still play thouggh, but not as much. i get too frustrated. i used to have alot of fun but less now.

I certainly dont agree! I only think this mod has gottn better and better. I havent seen .5 I think. I think I started when .6 was on. But I love this mod with all the animations and gameplay changes. I only play on TG and T&T So theres a lot of teamwork games out there.

It sucks that I just moved in a new appartment and havent got internet though! Gotta hang in there for 3 to 4 weeks! I cant wait to get it back so I can play PR!

People get older and move on. The old days are still around but you need to be in the right place at the right time. Hell if anyones been able to play with the Fuzz, DB, Patterson, others on some of the server its like night and day to a pub server.

I don't konw where this comes from. Yes, it's slower paced, but the game is awesome! I have had wonderful rounds in 0.8. The -tention- is really good, Insurgency is running like a charm, the new maps are superb, the new assets are wonderful, etc. I can go on for a while .

If I look back to 0.5 for example, that was just way too arcadey. 0.8 is NOT a simulator, it's the perfect game for me and I'm sure 0.9+ will be even better. Wish I knew what goes on in the heads of the blue mob .

PR's new motto ''if it aint broke, we'll fix it'' seriously PR v0.76 was absolute gold, I spent 1000's of hours playing that dam game, new games would come out but at the time PR was better than anything anyone could offer, with .8 now I find my self yawning 90% of the time, even when I play with friends and clan mates the mod has lost that exciting feeling, I really wish they bring back the fun aspects of PR v0.76 back.

PR is filling a niche in BF2 mods that is not for everyone. And it really suites playing with a regular group that you can have a laugh with. Some rounds can be very boring.. playing PLA on Barracuda when the US can't sort their shit out, as an example. (love this map though) But many rounds can be very exciting and great fun.

However, there is no comparison with another game i know of for teamwork and community play.
I enjoy a round or two of FH2, OPK or POE for light relief, but teamwork nearly always sucks.

Personally i much prefer 0.8 over 0.7.

I don't know what they are talking about i never had as much fun as i have in .8 the rounds have perfect length, the fire fights are intense, and since the game have been slowed down the tension is just that much higher when you eventually get into combat.

For the first time ever in PR i find that using actual RL formation works wonders on the battlefield, granted you need a squad who knows what they are doing, but thats why i always play on TG to better my odds for that.

I dont know..I love every version more and more. 0.8 is great: teamwork now actualy gets promoted, I havent been prone dived ONCE!, firefights are longer and more intense.

Overall I find 0.8 to look better to sound better and to play better, I guess different people have different preferences.

PR 0.8 Is great I love every aspect aprt from being slower than a sloth. The pass in .756 was great, Not too slow to make it annoying and not so fast that everyone needed to be on crack to keep up.

I have found that I've been loading up a server fewer times than normal...but mostly because of my current system, once I have the new one I will be on PR more than PR its self.
