Update January 14, 2009 part II
Ok I have started up the elevation knob for the tripod. Bracket and actual piping that elevates is pretty much done, just the dial that turns the thing needs a bit more detail work and flairing out.
Image
Image
In all the Tris count now is 2421
I'm just doing this to avoid the optics right now :S It'll probably end up me finishing all the parts to this thing, and the optics still aren't done! Waiting on some stuff from NOs
Update January 14, 2009
I have capped the ends, since when you think about it you don't want to look down this, and you won't while shooting.
Image
Image
The connecting points have been fixed up a bit, the foward one has been evened out.
Image
Image
Lastly the grips have been given a rounded tip (relatively speaking) and the spot holding them on has been made into one piece(I have never found a good pic of that spot so I'm just assuming)
Image
Image
Tris Count:2,230 :D It's doubled from the breech alone! Speaking of the breech, it's pretty much done, but I need to attach the wire (for joy for joy)
Update January 13, 2009
Ok, I've got a work in progress breech mechanism very WIP, I might ask for some assistance from someone like Z-Trooper or another CON.
Image
Also being done is the grips for when the thing is in transit on its little wheels
Image
Tris Count is at 2,196
Update January 8, 2009
Finished the front sight. All that's left of the actual weapon to allow it to be mounted ona technical is the Optics, mounting bracket, towing handles(this may or may not show up considering it is ona vehicle) and breech < :S
Image
After making the inside one whole tube all the way through instead of a whole bunch of crevices everywhere I have also added the front sight.
Image
Should look a bit like this--->V(for thsoe that don't know, that's a down arrow :D )
Image
Tri Count is now at 1552
Update January 6, 2009
Image
Started new model 666 polies, 1312 tris, 1328 edges, 672 verts This should be lowered shortly, just need to uncap the ends of this pipe

Thanks goes to Z-Trooper for all the help conversing on X-Fire, Nos for his patience and persistance in finding me stuff(even though I fear a black truck coming to bring me to count trees in siberia :D ) Ice_Killer for something, Oleg_Russian for some tips, Jhoson for some pics, and the PR community for actually liking this idea and their support.

Would you mind making it on the Insurgent technical too?
Also, not to distract from the seriousness of this thread, but I must...

Image

Insurgent 1 :O k Akmed, when I tell you it is loaded you will fire!
Akmed (Insurgent 2): But...
Insurgent 1: But nothing or I'll chop your arm off!
*Insurgent 3 loads SPG 9*
Insurgent 1: Fire Akmed, shoot!
*Wall is detroyed and they all die*

Also, as far as high standards go, you don't have too bad of a deal here because the gun is mounted on a truck (ie. no magazine, no reload stuff, etc.), so a lot less work. Don't fret.

Oh yeah, you're right fox. Shows my ability to not be decieved by occular cues (which seeing 3d in a 2d image are caused by).

This is gonna make a cool fixed emplacement, which I assume is what your aiming for anyway, unless you wanna create come crazy 1 weapon which needs to be deployed to use pickup kit with it too, that'd be hella cool.

I think (hope) that the plan is to put it on the pickup truck.

small question: judging from the guy in the video the OP posted, it's not really recoilless, is it?

I saw a video of one of the RR compared to an M1 Garand, compared to a garand it is. but its still not an RPG :D
PS that sucks tomato, well I guess I'll use Hl@ files

Since it's a community model then the community should be able to do a few things with it hopefully, if tomato gives consent to alter his model for different roles of course :p

I'm the one making the SPG. I'm first going to do the Beretta 9000 tutorial to learn how to model then I'm going to make the SPG9 for the militia and anything else if the devs want to.
Reconverting all the tutorials to MPG so they can work on my Zune, anyone else want them? I give all credit to the original video maker (without him I'll probably never make SPG9)

Its kind of halted at the moment I haven't gotten the model started. I still need shots of the optics from multiple views as I can't make it from the side. Also lfe interuppted
