Would it be a good idea to give the MEC engineer a sideway bomb, correct me if im wrong but, is the sideway bombs not the biggest reason for killed Soldiers?

Tell me what you think about the idea :)

Also called IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices)

Usualy an old artillery shell, rigged to blow, and burried along a road.

Yeah, but it would be realistic to give the arabians one like that, im not shure it can destroy heavy armored vihecles?

This is allready in PRMM. Just put C4 at the side of the rode under a bush and wait for a car to come along. Simpal.

^ exactly.

And remember, the MEC aren't insurgents. They are a 'proffesional' army.

C4's blast is not wide enough. We need a wider one to set up ambushes like that, like 5-6 meters more or so.

ye they are, god knows how manny tanks ive taken down trying to eneter karkand by putting them ither side of the road as they try and get in. But that is in vBF2 and the blast might be much lower in PR i aint really used C4 in PR.

I guess the radius is the same, but the point is that it's still not enough effective against infantry. An answer to this may be an alternative kit for the SF guy, with player-activated claymores to be used for this purpose...

Man, way too many people think that the MEC are insurgents or what the mainstream calls "terrorist", even though I could break car windows while being an American and that is basically terrorism. They need to be called radical Islamic Fundialmentists, because we are dealing with those kind of terrorist and not like ones in South America or drug lords who are also called terrorist sometimes.

And please stop associating the MEC or any Arab with roadside bombs(IEDs), suicide bombs, explosive bombs, or explosive devices or any other sterotypical thing. I think an American would be offended if someone called all Americans or associated with all Americans, fat, greedy slobs.

Yes, well said SoF. But IEDs are still something I'd want to see in the game. Are those "terrorism"? No, I don't think so. Since they are meant to strike an army rather than civilians, and their purpose is not "political" I'd classify IEDs in the "guerrilla tactics" category. Any army can make use of guerrilla tactics if outnumbered and\or less technologically developed. I wouldn't like a "roadside bomber kit" in the game, but I'd appreciate a lot any change bringing the opportunity to set up ambushes with roadside bombs more effectively than at the current state.

Any directional explosive with a larger blast radius would be abused in game.
I don't think a professional army like the MEC, US, or anybody else would improvise an explosive unless they really had to, it would just be a recipie for friendly-fire accidents.
This game is not about guerrilla warfare, it is about legitimate open warfare.
SoF makes a really good point, people need to listen.

I would like to see that C4 is invisble, this would make games very exciting.
But two things other would have to change:
- strength and blast of the explosive
- Squad actually work as a team with a brave point man. Yu never have the squad leader go ahead and a point man spots dangers before they get the rest of the squad. e.g the bomb would take out the point man, becuase the most enemies would be stupid annd would not realise there was a cluster of men coming and blow it as soon as they saw some one.
- decrease the number of explosives down to 2. (enough to take a tank out and no more)
SIMPLE adn Real, what more could yu want.

Yeah thats a good idea. Maybe a explosive specialist class should carry at 1-2 mines, 2 claymores, 2 C4 paks and a pistol as armament.
