Team swap/auto teams

It amazes me how often i have a squad and suddenly one of the members is swapped. This can be very annoying. Then to have an unassigned player join the squad.
Is there a way to have autobalance affect non assigned players first. Dunno if this would be a BF2/Pr/ Mod manager issue.

Not sure if this is legal to change in PR (it should be, but I'm not 100% sure), but there's code to prevent switching of squad members and leaders:
BF2:Squadleaders getting teambalanced - BattleWiki
It's up to the admins of the server to add it however. If you frequent a server you like, you could go to their site and propose adding this function.

I'd like to revive this rather old thread and ask all server admins to add this option. Sadly the original link is not working for me.
I've been noticing it often recently that people squaded up are auto swopped before unassigned/un-squadded players.

Agreed! Its so bad now that I don't give up when theres 2 people less on the other team!

To afraid to get swapped over.... NWA does not have this script and I'm pretty sure MERK doesn't have it as well.

There's NOTHING you can do to change that. People will just jump in squads in order to stay "safe". And even if those few lonewolves don't squad up, they have to die first in order for the balancing to activate.
The only thing servers can do is allow a larger difference between both teams, but then players will start whining that it's sooo unbalanced.
So all in all, not a thing you can do about this. At least not via a script.

with larger servers, larger discrepencies in team numbers has a smaller effect. 29 vs 35 is dramatic. 47 vs 53 is far less so.
another problem solved by larger games

PR 1.0 and 100+ player servers FTW!

The not swapping sq leaders sound like something that would be good, annoying when the sq leader gets swapped and you have to play a game of who wants to be the next sq leader.

Squad leaders and commanders don't get swapped. At least not in AD Smart Balance, but I think it counts for all the balancing scripts that are used on PR servers.

I've been in a squad, in a firefight, on mumble, middle of the game, and i've been force killed and team swapped , happened to other people as well, hope that can be fixed as well. Don't know if its server dependant.

I think this was most likely an admin that used the " !switch milosv now " - command.

Exactly. The scripts don't kill you by force, not by themselves

Agree, and think more scripting, if possible would just cover up the real issue.
I can remember it wasn't such a big deal to have a deficit of less 8-10 players on one team. People just soldiered on despite the odds. This before we had the teamswitch option now abused by admins moving their buddies or anyone offended by the switch. Being short a few players is not a show stopper it just evolved into we have to keep everything 'balanced', exceptable. Bollocks.
I say buck up Hondo and play the hand your were dealt. That is the PR I started playing 6 plus years ago. What the hell happened?
