I started a map and when I place a building it was invisible. I can still move the object, and see it at a far distance. The editor also crashes sometimes when i try to put a object down. It says something about a dump folder?

Edit: another problem wheni place an object i can see it the it disapears without moving the camera and con't recover it.

Certain objects crash the editor ( think theres about 10-20 ) - get to know which ones quickly and you'll save yourself alot of frustration - trust me

The static which you can only see at a distance - can you also see it close up? I had a problem like that which took me ages to sort out. Basically certain objects could be seen very close or at a distance, but they disappeared at the distances in between.

The solution for me, was to replace certain objects - and it always tended to be large buildings with alot of other statics going through it. You can replace it with the same static - just make sure you delete the original. I dont know how this works, but it did work for me ( It took me forever to work out, and almost made me give up mapping )

Hmm... Usualy i just had to restart the editor and those objects were visible again. You probably tried that though...
