Different playing styles over the world?

I played on a thai server for PR first time today.. Mostly because I had a 10 ping to that server which was nice. But i really noticed how thai people like to play differently. One thing i like about this mod its not death match style where you have to actually plan and can use tactics to win.

Well on the Thai server there was about 35-40 people total and we were playing on skirmish matches designed for 12-18 people. Whats the point of that? Im guessing they like to get right into the action and I noticed a lot of campers on the hills sniping. Ive also played vanilla BF2 and its the same way, they might as well stick with vanilla if they are playing PR this way.

I think ill stick with the US or Australian server for now where it doesnt feel like im playing vanilla with bleed effects and realistic aiming.

Another thing off topic does anyone know where to rent a BF2 server located in Asia?

Russian players are more aggressive in their play style and may use 'dirty' tactics

But they are good :p

I find all German players to be scarily efficiant and ruthless

All British joke around and all Americans get too involved.

my experience:

british: joking a lot, but also into the game for the realistic experience and has good communication.

americans: a bit less patient than british and questions stuff a bit more, but still good communication.

russians: pretty lively emotions in the squads, and not always good english. their wild mentality carries into the gameplay.

germans: somewhat good english but sometimes bad teamwork if you don't join the right squads. the clan squads are great, though.

french: very different experience from the squads i've played with. often way too many "french voip" squads.

swedes: good gameplay and very keen on listening to the squadmates, but don't play in a swedish clan squad cause they will, like the brits, joke way too much ;P

There are national patterns, but they do get broken :)

My favorite nationalities in PR are the Aussies and Kiwis, never had a bad game with one :D

They are like good luck charms or something

Yeah, I've always had fun squadding up with you but somehow whilst we're all busy lulzing at something whilst getting shot at, you always manage to rack up a leet score.

You can normally rely on Americans to give precise information regarding enemy contacts and to follow orders, most of our transatlantic buddies that I've played with have been older than me. The younger ones can be a little eager to start popping off rounds before reporting their target.

The Aussies I've played with have shown high professionalism but are always the first to laugh when something goes wrong.

I can remember joining the squad of an Irishman after things had gone a bit wrong. From that point on, we really had the luck of the Irish. :)

EDIT: Does RGG stand for Really Giggly Gang? I always find myself laughing at/with any RGG member.

Thats right, we are funny as hell but very good at what we do...while laughing at you.

Hence why I am mostly playing on the Big D server now...plus I enjoy being around other like myself.

End of thread, Aussies are the best to be in a squad with.

Australians are highly professional, but play it as a game with rules that favour unrealistic tactics that they are more than willing to use...

And they almost never sit still and defend. Games are faster and more risks are taken - if a safe tactic will keep you alive but only give you the chance to kill 1 or 2 people in five minutes, an Australian (outside of an asset) will always reject that in favour of a more aggressive move that will likely result in more kills and a faster respawn back into the action.

Works well enough... God help you if you disagree with the way they're doing things though :\

Americans are a very mixed bunch. Kinda pointless trying to stereotype them though. They do like fixed defenses as a rule though. Tend to handle combined arms very well.

Brits are a hoot to play with. The jokes are fun, they try not to take it too seriously even when things are going wrong. That's great to be around.

Only one I've been in a match with is Fuzzhead...but since he is some super computer that is set up to pretend to be a person and just play PR all day, we cant really let the style of play he/it has roll on over to the canadians.

WNP  IIRC they invented the OGT PLA rush tactic , atleast first time i came across that tactic was against them , and they always make me re-think my tactics when i know my squad is against them . but yes, like you said... very skill full
