Strategy guide.

The strategy section is nice and well, however few of it translates into the game, because there is just a lot of stuff and if you are dependent on each other, some basic knowledge is needed to be known to a broad player base to make it translate into the game.

So how about bringing out a strategy guide similiar to the instruction manual, covering the basics of the kits, such as their application within the squad and basic tips on squadleading (which isnt taking place much right now) and maybe an introduction into commanding. The guide does not have to be too extensive. For in depth things like tactics covering different maps or additional tactics the forums can be used.

I posted a guide on sniping and the automatic rifleman in the Infantery tactics section. The 2 guides are basic tips on fiering the weapons, good ways to use them and a couple of basic tactics to implement the weapons in the squad/team. Have a look. I plan on covering all the kits bringing out a basic guide on infantery squadleading vehicle and armor usage. Airplanes and heclicopters will have to be covered by somone else.

Maybe what I publish and others published can be used to make that guide so that there is some common knowledge between the players.

We can also use these guides to promote the gameplay we would like to see. So not use the SF kit for 1337ness. Ofcourse we shouldnt put it in there like this but hide it in official words like: Good Special Forces players use this kit to aid the bla bla etc. etc.

Its a good idea! I can help out with making some guides and graphics to go with it. Im also starting to work on a basic training video guide. Wrighting the scripts. So I can send them over to you for help on the text guide.

Yes thats the general idea to promote a certain kind of gameplay and especially teamplay. For example I oftentimes see that the squad doesnt move up to engage an enemy squad surpressed by the SAW. Hope the guide will do something about that.
Have a look at the 2 guides I published especially the one covering the Automatic rifleman seen as the one covering the sniper is "special" with the sniper not really being a squadplayer. Maybe you can make suggestions based on my guides instead of making your own and take care of the grafics and putting it in a nice pdf format to reduce some redundancy (seen as thats something I plan on brushing off to somone else :p

That would be awesome, if it is approved by the devs it could be made avaiable for dl like the manual. Wait for my guides to be out, put your feeback on them and then you can put them into PDF if you want to.

Iam curious on your videos. Let me know when you have one ready.

Yeah that'd be cool if it came with the next release. It could definitely do with being a link to website for videos and pics and stuff though instead of a PDF.

Maybe the site and the videos could be more in depth and the PDF guide something to put everyone on equal footing.

It would be cool to bundle them with the next release! I hope if we made some examples and the dev's knew we could finish them they would tell us a rough date so we can try and finish them.
