Just a quick audio question

I was messing around with my settings when I noticed that the SOUND QUALITY tab had an ULTRA HIGH option. Yet this option is red and unselectable.
So my question is basically, can this setting be turned on at all? And if it can, what are the requirements for it?
Thanks for your time.

hi there,
yes the untra quality sound option can only be turned on if you have a sound blaster X FI sound card..
I have one.. and i think i can say that the sound quality is nice.. its not super duper amzing, but it is nice.. with X FI you can hear 128 different sounds at the same time if need be.. and its more clear as well...

like said before... it can only be used with an x-fi card

Perhaps you just turned the Device to x-fi, and then you saw that you can select ULTRA-HIGH. But well it wouldn't work if you click at "save this settings"

Yeah, I have this as well and had hoped for a little better quality.
For me the distances of the sounds are off, action that takes place 200 metres away appear to take place 10 metres away, forcing me to constantly check the map. But other than that, gun sounds, explosions and ambient sounds are nice.

Is that just something at your computer or is that card based? Like all those XiFi cards do that?

I have the same problem; on Ultra, all the distances are screwed; you could be firing right next to me and I'd hear nothing, while I'd hear a sole squaddie running around 2KM away...High is the best usable for me.

Yes, a bit irritating. I also hear every time someone reloads a stationary MG (I think), regardless of where on the map!
Gonna downgrade to "high" tonight and see if that's better, my card may be too good for this game.
