resupplying system for specialised munition

sorry for my bad english
my idea is to use the abilitie of the engineer of picking up mines of roads with the wrench. as he pick up ONLY the mine. this way we dont use the "ammo points" that the ammo bag/box/crate
lets change the wrench model to the soldier's hands and put it in a new weapon slot, using the right clik to pick up and reload AT rounds with one animation and reload bullets with the other click (everyone who is not AT would only have the second option) from dropable at rounds and magazines that rifleman (for magazines) and maybe specialists (for AT rounds) would drop.
magazines would only provide 1 magazine for the main gun
at rounds would only provide 1 at round
engeneer->wrench->pick up mine
AT soldier->"hands"->pick up at round/magazines
soldier->"hands"->pick up magazines
->drop magazines (no more ammo bag)
secialist->drop AT rounds
it could be implemented to resuply field dressings from medics.
it is possible to use the engine in this way?

Yeah but, thing is, the mine-object is actually there. The AT-rocket or bullets/magazines are NOT. Instead, there's an ammo bag that gives.... ammo. This ammo works for whatever weapon you have.
I'm sorry, but I highly doubt this will work. It's not like you want to pick up the ammo bag

There's no AT rounds, there's just an AT rifle which you fire and drop. Then you'll have to get a new gun. Perhaps if they could drop AT rifles.

the ammo box is only a 3d model, wich you can change to look like anything
else, for example a rocket. and it gives ammo points.
"delete" it, and put a dropable object whith a 3d model of a roket. wich can be picked up just as the mine.
"There's no AT rounds, there's just an AT rifle which you fire and drop. Then you'll have to get a new gun. Perhaps if they could drop AT rifles"
cant they be reloaded?, I cant see the point of carry more than one AT launcher

I didnt understand this the first time around..

The first time I read this I thought "absolute garbage", but now that I've read it again, I think it's actually good.
If I'm right (oooh that phrase...), martov's idea means:
1)"Mine" that looks like a missile launcher (and clearly doesn't move, which is a good thing; anyone remember the bandages before they stuck to the ground?)
2)"Wrench" that looks like hands for AT soldier
As compared to the long time to remove a mine with a wrench, just a short movement with the hands should allow you to pick up the rocket. This would, I think, require a new animation, and I'm not sure how difficult it is to get new animations with the current devs (as I know PR has generally been low on animators).

iirc 3p animations are hard, so you could use the wrench animation...without the wrench model and it would look ok and wouldn't need work
Chuc or whoever would have to make a new animation for the hands for the player though

At least, a model of hands that just drop to the bottom of the screen to 'pick up' the 'ammo'.

Actually, that's the case in reality. It sounds real stupid I know, they cost about $2000 and can't even be reloaded. But that's how it is, one positive effect is that you don't have to carry it for the whole battle though.
In a realistic squad you would carry about 3 AT4s instead of one as in PR. Mostly because it's estimated that 3 AT4s are needed to fully take out an APC. For your information.

... so... how we can simulate that?, it`s not realistic to carry 3 AT lauchers by yourself, so how it is really done in the army?
and anywais this idea could be used for rifle magazines, grenades and medical supplies.

Because they have more than just 6 people in a squad

the only part i liked from this thread was the idea to pick up enemy mines to restock ur own. or ur own mine to restock ur own. but guessing how this game works that if u picked up a mine it would refill all ur ammo including the mine.
