perhaps a corrupted roadtexture...or sometimes it happens that when you put splines too close to each other the second pline will turn into a huge splin and you can only see blue...
no idea otherwise

is it permanent?

try swithcing to the object editor and back to the terrain/static editor it tends to reset the editor terrain.. also generating the groundhemi can reset the terrain...

its just the editor though... not a real problem i dont think..

the same thing happens to me and it happens on bf2 not just pr the only way to see anything is to view in wireframe mode but that is really weird.
I NEED A SOLUTION!!!!!

So you load your map...

it looks fine...

apply the roads and the terrain is gone and the statics are popping in and out at close range correct??

it the editor not reloading the terrain...there are a few way to make it reaload..

let me know if this is whats happening and I can detail ways to make the terrain load..

if you go Tools>Options and expand reload settings what boxes do you have checked?

check them all then try applying your splines.

you also do know that you only apply your splines if you want to deform your terrain to fit with the road?

did you try restarting the editor? you dont really need the apply spine function you can live without it it just makes things easier in some cases.

For me.. when this happens.. generating the ground hemi makes all the objects come back. BUT...the statics come back greyed out... to fix that you switch between the object editor and the level editor which should reset the statics..

I've had the same problem a bazillion times..

As Rhino said though...if you dont need to aplly the spline dont..

Also.. After loading the map once in the editor the editor generally needs to be restarted completely before loading another map or even relaoding the map you are using... its a memory hog ...

you should really always restart the editor before loading anouther map after you already have one map loaded as otherwise it becomes even more buggy and can really screw up stuff.
