Could we have some cover to the thing as it seems to be starting trend in Mutrah that some HAT man takes down the Cobra before it gets into air.

No. In real life if you know where a helicopter is at you'll blow it up on the ground.

Are you sure it was HAT? afaik you cant see the carrier, at least not enough to aim properly

it might be AA who's missiles are not locked until they get near the Carrier, if that is the case, the Devs are aware of that problem and I'm not sure of what solutions they came up with, there is a thread around here someplace

IRL carriers are armed with some kind of defense against incoming missiles e.g. the Close-In Weapons System (CIWS)or the sea sparrow to name a few.

They should make it like the Essex in the Iron Gator BFSF map. With the bay open and the elevator. Keep the deck clear for incoming aircraft.

But in real life you don't defend the same city (Muttrah) five times a week, knowing exactly where the Cobra will be, at the exact aircraft carrier - which you can't even see.

You do if the place your attacking is Osan.

I'm in favour of using the BF:SF Iron Gator model.

It's freaking sweet anyway.

I'm sure it will cause a tremendous amount of lag. Maybe if the inside could be simplified but I dont think it can.

Who cares about lag. Lag is for wimps with wimpy PCs. PR is a man's game.

Can we have the rest of the 7th fleet in game to protect us then? I'm sure they lend us a few escorts IRL... :? :

is there a way to get an automated flare launching system built on to the carrier that fires a flare once a every 10/20 seconds or put heat source on the carriers funnels, with the hat put some blast deflectors on the side of the carrier

IRL you would cruise missle the MEC base. and be another mile off land.

in SF it was a smaller map with a island with nothing on it apart from some crappy sheds

I think its pretty obvious the Carrier wouldn't be in such a risky position IRL

escorts, realistic distance for choppers to travel, even if it was that close it has goalkeeper systems etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc

This has been suggested before. Yes it would be nice but the whole idea of this map is to fight in the city not mess round in the carrier running through it. even though that would be fun ;)

No, im pretty sure it was a hat as it was done twice as soon as chopper spawned and noone was inside the cobra at those times.
If someone has the time to find the correct place to aim the hat (by lining up the cursor with some buildings for example) it's pretty easy to do.

sounds to me more like a fog/view distance hack more than some one spending ages to get it just right.

I've seen it, it's not a hack, it's alot of practice.

Typically by the time the cobra spawns you should have an FOB or two in the city as well as most of the team to hunt that crafty goon. Problem solved.
