Q: Playermodels

Is it impossible to alter playermodels, or just really hard?

As i understand it, the playermodel is exactly 2m tall.
The chinese should technically be alot lower than the brit, with whatever non-/relevant consequenses that implies.
In how many ways is this not possible to include in BF2?

Is the statics and other models made in relavance to real world-scale, or the Playermodel?
If the first, is this why eg. humvees and civilian cars look so small?

For the sake of curiosity,
bjoffe

Altering player models is technically possible, but forbidden by EA's End User License Agreement (EULA).

We all know how much EA pays attention to its games. And how much they care.

PR stays on the straight and narrow, the EULA is followed to the letter. If you'd like, you can make up your own player models, if they're good enough, PR might use them.

Brits are made, US army is being made, perhaps if you remake all Vbf2 objects we can make the scale a little more realistic for you. Oh, and a BF2 meter is not to scale ether.

lol obvious joke is missed :P

Theres always been questions on scale in PR but the thing is nothing is in scale with anything really, its all just as close as possible. A guy might be way above a doorway on a house, but compared to something else he is tiny, or say, compared to a tank he is quite large...

The Abraham was made small, and so the challenger was kept fairly small to an extent when it was made as well

I think I remember hearing the challenger was made a bit bigger to be more to scale, but at the same time, they didnt want it to become a ridiculous target compared to every other EA tank.

Take this all with some salt because my facts arent 100%...

In the end, yeah scales fooked, but thats just how it played out :3

All players must be more or less the same height, since several factors force the use of the same animations (and hence also skeleton) across all player models for all countries.

I knew a guy who claimed he decreased the size of EVERYTHING in order to make the maps look bigger :D

dunno if he was pulling my leg though (he never shared it with me :( )

hes pulling your leg...

there is no way to "scale models" down without re-exporting them, then just that on its own is a huge amount of work let alone animations and all the rest.

you know this how? did you inport something exactly 1m big and bf2's meter didnt match? the thing about ingame measurements is there is nothing to match it to, So you have to take the meter in bf2 as right cus it is the only thing that isnt changeable.
