Mag Sharing

I dunno if you could make this work on the BF2 engine, but instead of ammo bags you could give a team mate a spare magazine, it would only work on compatible guns, e.g. M16-M249(they can take m16 mags as far as im aware, although they get through them in 2secs

), and AK-AK, what do you think, you could add a "I need a Magazine!" voice request

would be very hard to code, if impossibal and it would more than likly not be used. So it probaly wouldnt be worth the codeing for what its worth if it is possibal than getting a new rifle or 2 coded in that time

thanks for replying, im thought it would be near impossible to do, but i had to vent my suggestion to people who care

that was my first oppinion but surly if you code a mag to replace the ammo bag and giv it to all troops (number depends on remaining mags and vica verca) i think it could work.

then a mag would repesent a tank shell...

how?? surely you just model a mag??
and you could have specific ones for different guns and ammo so you have to pick up the right one.

Like i said, that above is more work than you think and in that time the devs could have put that work into making new rifles to play with

Umm, I think ammo bags and things that resupply can be limited and can be limited to what they resupply, I think someone said you could define what a resupplier supplies and what it does not so I belive it wouldn't be that hard to code.

amo bag recodeing needs to be done yes to stop all this nade spamming ect. But making lots of mag modles and codeing each mag to do diffrent things would take a very long time and would hardly be worth it...

I agree, recoding the ammo bags would just be fine enough.

I agree, and its not really worth all that trouble, would be neat to have in the future perhaps?

Yet another thing OFP has that BF2 doesn't. All the limitations of this apparently "superior" engine are coming out in floods.
It's always handy to know you can use your friends spare ammo in OFP, especially when you're miles from any supplies and behind enemy lines.

I actually think this is an awesome idea. Would be great if the DEVs could find the time to utilize it.
This would make the game just that much more realistic, and would make teamwork pretty interesting.

I dunno about this. Sounds like a neat idea to me though. Would take a while to implement, if we were to do it, it would probably make an appearance in PR 1.1 or later.

i would suggest...
adding a replenish-function to the gun...
that way you could only share when you have the same gun...
and you can easily share only the amount you currently have...
...just remains the issue of a key to share it.
