Idea to get people out of main!

ok so apparently on Khasnah (I know it is spelled wrong) there is free BBQ and beer at main that people love. So I came up with a (probably hard coded idea) When you take your tank out and get blown up Instead of it exploding and returning to main all the controls freeze up and it either has to be repaired and drivin back or a spec ops man has to go and blow it up.
Now In real life the US army goes out and retrieves all of their tanks that have beet PWND and brings them back so there could be you reality bit especially for people who love the supply trucks and the new engi vehicle

Yes but it would also make the tankers think about surviving instead of slugging it out with out moving (guilty)

It makes the tankers think more, and it adds a new tactical field to PR.
I mean, if your team doesnt watch their assets, then they should loose, but maybe they have a squad, who is good with something else.
Get a Scissor, paper, rock thingy.
If we imagine it on a map like Kashan, and people know they have to be careful with the tanks, they might avoid tank combat, or have a dedicated support squad. Its all about the latter of the team, if a tank squad ruins all the tanks, it needs alot of teamwork to resurect them or blow them up.
The team is forced to deal with this new task.
Like firebases, if you dont build them, then that sucks. You get a bonus if you build them. It should be the same for the tanks, but tbh i need to see this tried out.

Hmm i guess your right. I dont know, do you know something that can make ppl leave main?

(Probably hard-coded) You could make it so that the bubble around the Main that kills enemies inside also does damage to friendly infantry if the remain inside the bubble for more than 5 minutes (this should be plenty of time for jets/heli's to warm up, load up and get airborne before they take damage).

I've seen videos of Apaches blowing up armored vehicles and such so the enemy doesn't captured any valuable items..

So basically he wants to implement a game mechanic where the first team to lose their armor is the team that loses. Hell, I'd camp dead tanks for the win.
Now consider APCs in the water. You disable them in the water and now they can't be repaired. Sounds like the MEC will have a good time on Muttrah.

So trudging through the desert for 15-20 minutes is preferable to waiting at main for transport to respawn in, what, 10 minutes? Hmm.
This veers farther away from "realism" and gameplay than anything that's been introduced so far. Forcing players out of main? What? Besides, what's to keep players from simply waiting outside the bubble, waiting for 5+ minutes for a vehicle to respawn, then heading back in?

People can spawn at bunkers and firebases, or their rallypoint.
If that's not an option, then spawning in main and wait for some transport is a good way of regrouping and to rethink tactics. If people could be somehow forced out of base, they'd have to walk to the rest of their squad all the time, wich is bad.

How about we just let people play this game however they want to play it, instead of trying to force everyone to play this game the same way?

That's why EA makes games. If this is meant to get as close to war as possible then people can't do whatever they want. Sure they can, but not all the crazy stuff.

You'll never be able to code a system of rules or incentives that force people to play like a real army. It will never happen. Something always gets exploited, people always come up with their own strategies, et cetera.
Also consider that most soldiers do a bit of improvisation on the battlefield. Is sitting next to an enemy DFP and firing at other enemy DFPs something you're trained to do? No. I've done it as OpFor before and you know what happened? The DFPs I shot at shot back at the DFP next to me killing their own guys and that DFP shot back at the other DFPs which escalated into each DFP shooting at each other. It was a sad day of training for those guys.

bad idea. why?
who wants to play the game building firebases and salvaging tanks?
i want realistic firefights, everything else should should take as little time as possible.
last round i played was on muttrah. some guy from peru asked us to move around and build firebases the whole round... so that's what i did. but i did question him why we were building firebases around flags when we could just move in. he kept saying that the firebases were rallypoints (wat?)
so please, less building and maintenance and more core gameplay.
