mines/trip flares should not dissapear
i think it is unrealistic and kills some tactics.
in war a mine stay there until it is removed, and sometimes they still there after the war and are dangerous.
what you think?

i agree but for server purposes, it might lag if there are 100 mines on the map at any given time (not sure the exact number)

Well you can see it this way: the longer they stay, the higher the chances you'll end up killing your own team mates rather then an enemy...

Well, every engineer will still only be able to only place 8(?) mines before the first disapairs.
Don't know if one excludes the other.
Find a way, mastercoders, and this suggestion has my support.
Its about as silly as weapons disapair outof world within a blink of an eye

Then again, world is not perfect. We all strive.
Edit

I'm having problems placing mine-markers after another. What's up with this? Certain distance between? Time frame?

One solution is to remove personal Engineer AT mines and replace them with a minefield asset that must be primed with a wrench or shovel before use. That way, the game will both prohibit spammy mine use (i.e. throwing one down 15 seconds in front of an APC on Muttrah) and allow minefields to last until they're defused by an enemy engineer.

Minefield were suggested a while back, and unfortunately I don't think they can be done for what I remember.

Some clarification from on high?
If you have a better idea, tell us - I don't.

If Devs wanted they could allow players to place 1,337 number of mines, it's not a bug, it's game play.

You can only place one as of 0.8

Not one talking about bug or anything else, i meant it should be kept then there would be no "100 mines laggin folks out"
(well in theory it could be 512, but that could happen even now)

That's pretty... pretty dumb.

I kind of agree, but some people used to around spamming markers and generally being prats.

Yes now they gave that job to the commander who can spend his time decorating the minimap with these things.

no minefield, and if an engeneer wants to place 8 mines its OK, remember he must have AMMO CRATE near to do so, thats makes it a kind of asset, as it needs of crates.
also spamm mines is OK, just think is hard to reload them and is a good and effective tactic to make veicules not to get near a bunker or urban place.
make a maximum of 8 and its ok

To me that's just more of a case to have mines stay longer, disorganised teams will suffer more

I like to put mines under enemy vehicles. It's fun.
