SVD sound once good

Hey guys.
Yesterday I played PR and noticed that the firing sound of the SVD Dragunov has been changed. I thought "wtf? now, the svd isnt my favourite weapon anymore!"
I suggest to change the sound to the old one, the more metallic one. Generally I would change all weaponsounds, so they sound more metallic.
The SVD just sounds "ugly" now

sry for my bad English :o ops:

Words like "ugly" and "metallic" are very subjective.. if you want things done right you gotta do it yourself.

It uses a completely different cartridge, and a slightly different operating system in addition to having a much longer barrel than an AK47. It's going to have a significantly different sound than an AK47.

the "clink" sound that was used for AK-47 and SVD is just very unrealistic.. honestly if u think about it theirs no way that "clink" sound can overpower the sound of a gunshot..

Well the if you wanted that metallic sound then why would Project Reality be called Project Reality if it didn't have realistic weapon sounds? If you insist on weapons sounding metallic like then a more arcade like FPS like Counter Strike, Far Cry or Call of Duty might be more suitable for you.

exactly right, the only time you'd hear that is if you are wearing ear plugs or ear muffs and you have your head on the butt stock of the weapon when firing it.

Why should it be unrealistic?
i saw several videos using the SVD and in these videos the SVD HAS the metallic sound, exactly like in 0.75.
(i dont want to tell u the videos names, they are not..good...u know)

If it's changed from the vanilla one, then it's very very likely Jaymz or one of the other sound guys has collaborated with an informed military advisor to get a realistic sound out of the thing. Unfortunately(?) guns probably don't sound anywhere near as cool(?) as they might be represented in more dramatic mediums ;)

Well thats just it, they are videos, what cracks me up is how some people , because they see a video of a particular weapon being fired and to them it sounds so dead on real, but you have to take into consideration that most microphones on cameras be it digital or vhs, the mic cannot capture the true sound of a gun shot, the sound pressure is too strong, that is why at times u see a vid of a gun shooting you hear what sounds like metal scrapping metal. I guarentee you do not hear that in real life. I for one am not thrilled either for at least, the M4 and M16 rifle sounds, they sound like barking dogs imo. I don't think thats Jaymz fault though. I think alot of the weapons need some tlc and a bit of an over haul still.

That on the sound on most internet vids is compressed, leading to a very different sound to the original sometimes.
