Warning you must run PR by running PR.exe??

I have played this game for a few months now without a problem. Then suddenly, out of the blue, tonight I crashed to desktop. No problem I thought, just start the game again. Well that’s what I did and since then I have been greeted with the following message below.

Warning
you must run Project Reality by running PR.exe, not BF2.exe Press Alt F4 and update your shortcuts.

PR.exe is needed for our custom shader effects to work; it will pass any supplied parameters on to BF2.exe. All changes made to BF2 will be reverted on exiting PR

should your computer crash while playing PR simply start-up and quit PR to restore all original BF2 files.

Now can someone here please tell me what’s going on here:
1) I do click on the Short cut to PR and not BF2.
2) Well I’m clicking on the PR short cut for the shaders to work.
3) I cannot even start PR now without getting the above message, let alone quit it.

Any help would be appreciated; I was looking forward to a game tonight. I'm running windows vista 32bit.

Also make sure your shortcut is pointed to the pr.exe not the bf2.exe

Well, it occasionally happens to me after I CTD and immediately try to run PR again. After waiting a minute or two, things work smoothly again.

Any idea why this happens?

If BF2 crashes, there is sometimes a process left running, called "ed5" and something (not sure about the naming, too lazy to get the real name).

Kill that process and try to restart the game.

if nothing above works (like they didnt for me when i had the same problem) you got to run pr as an administration, right click the PR icon on your desktop > properties > attributes (or whatever it is in english,i use finnish settings) and then click run as admin..

btw,can a mod move this to PR Help and Hardware Support section.
