OK, I know all the stuff about not asking when updates are being released, and I know the inevitable answer (when it's done.)



However, I would like to ask something to the DEV's that I think is a very reasonable question regarding the release of .85



It's a simple question, with 2 answers that are very general.



Question - When is .85 expected to be released?



A) Possibly this year.


or


B) Probably next year.




A would mean that it's starting to take shape, and has a chance at a 2008 release, but isn't necessarily going to be released soon (within 2 months)

B would mean that it is still largely a WIP and we shouldn't expect it anytime soon (again, within 2 months)




Please DEV's, at least answer A or B.

We all know that nothing is set in stone, and that things like this take time, but by answering one of the two you would at least give us some idea of how progress is going.

I don't see why, in this format, you wouldn't be able to give the community at least a vague idea of when its coming out.

You've probaly seen the answer before, "it will be released when its done" no sooner or later.
It's impossible for the devs to put an accurate date of a release anyhow.

your first line and his first line are basically the same.....

he said many times that he doesn't expect the DEV's to know exactly when it's coming out...

and he doesn't need your input on this, this is for DEV's to answer....

The moral of the story is just play the game you have. As soon as .85 comes out, people will be posting "Zomg wen iz .9 ?"
The devs will take as long as they need.

I am by no means an official word reflecting the opinions or thoughts of the Project Reality team. That aside, I believe it's coming 2009. I think I read there's 5-7 months between each release.

Personally i say,devs take your time.No hurry

it may be in '08' if not it'll be in '09',
the best you can do is hope for 08 but prepare for 09, wish us luck in our respective projects and wait it out

See, that was all we needed.


It means that progress IS being made, and since an 08 release is possible, it

means that if it's not released in 08, it can't have that much further to go into 09 before being released.

First of all, this was meant for a DEV to answer, so everything you guys said amounted to shit.


Second of all, what you said was a useless post, (either 2008 or 2009), nice going trying to be cute....really clever with that ambiguous answer....had me chuckling for a bit...


Third of all, what Nickbond said helps a lot because as long as a DEV said it has a chance of being released this year, that means that its making good progress, and if it won't be long after 2009 most lifely.

If he had said "it won't be this year" , then we would have no clue how long to wait, but thanks to the power of inference, we can get a rough estimate of its release

I'd say mid-December the absolute earliest, February the absolute latest.
